Has anyone ever used the Rapid Learning 24Hrs (Rapid Learning Centre). Is it a good resource as advertised ?
I have been impressed by their pitch but needs some solid advice. My son is studying GCSE and will need to progress to A-Levels. What revision or study resources can be excellent for him ?

- i am always sceptical about these things... they cost fortune but won't then give you back the money if you don't get the results! i think i would focus more on my sons (if i had one!) motivation TO learn... keep him inspired and motivated...
- AVOID! Tests hardly require someone to be clever. They just require them to have a good memory. I use a technique called memory pictures. Its easy to remember lists days even years later but takes a short time to practice. Here is an example - if I wanted to remember the shopping list carrots bananas washing powder lettuce aspirin hammer car fishing rod stamps cod spices I would picture a carrot in my mind, the carrot would then need to be visualised doing something funny as memory works better if you use humour. So the carrot could be unzipping his fly and a banana pops out. But the banana is dirty because of where he has been so he scrubs himself with washing powder. He reaches for a towel in the veg rack and grabs a lettuce leaf. The lettuce swells up as it absorbs the water abd to make the swelling go down you use aspirin because it is anti-inflametry, but that does not work well so to get flat again he hits himself with a hammer and . . . well you get the picture. So you turn it into a visual story. The more vivid the better. If you want more detail and how to do dates get Tricks of the Mind by Derren Brown £7.99 and in that book it has an excellent section on memory enhancement. Hope thats helps.
