How Good is the PhD in eco-fin from the baltics is it equal to canadian and american!!?

Please Help only serious answers solicitated please read all data before giving me a sound advice. I am an international student who is thourghly confused!! presently I am doing my MBA in germany and I am only proficient in english and no other language ........plus I have to look for a job after the PHD because my Financial Resources are really low, As the Country should have a good job market as well, I have heard that the economy is booming in south-east asia, and middle-east as well, does this really help ?? Should I only look to US ,Canada and other English speaking countries or should I try Baltics with the Scandinavians too, do I really have a chance in these small countries with my international degrees and English !! (I am not proficient in thier language) I have already made a mistake once and would not like to repeat it

1. It really depends on the schools involved. Not all US PhDs are the same. However, many European PhDs are very different from US PhDs. For example, I know someone with a German PhD in finance. Her dissertation was more like a book about the history of some financial problem, rather than a work of original research which would be done by an American PhD student. It is very difficult to get a job in an American school with a PhD from a European university -- unless it is something like LSE or Oxford. Some Europeans are able to get a job by doing a Post-Doc at an American school. Finance isn't a field like Physics where most PhDs do a Post-Doc -- so this means more work. If you can get into an American school do it -- the best Finance programs are all in the US.
