Human resources?????
I want to go back to school for human resources. The tech school that I will be going to only offers a certification in human resources but the majority of jobs that I have seen require a bachelors degree? Are there good jobs that I can get with just the certificate in human resources?

- I had looked into this and I think you are better off going to school for the BA. You have to be careful with these tech schools. I know that some are great and have awesome programs, but some of them offer courses that do not compare with college courses. I am going back to school to a community college that is accredited-I was looking into a tech school and it was not accredited for the program I have chosen. Nowadays, Bachelor degrees are a dime a dozen (mine is pretty much useless), but at the same time, they are a minimum requirement for many jobs. I don't think an HR certificate is something that will look as good as a BA for HR jobs. I have seen the ads, too, and they either want years of experience, a BA or both. Some want Master degrees. I would look into it a bit more, but be careful you do not spend money on something that you can't use.
- hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a bachelor's degree is pretty much the standard in HR...in fact, masters degrees are becoming increasingly popular in this field, so I wouldn't bother with the certificate program. College will take longer, but has a much better chance to pay off. Good luck!
- I work as an HR Consultant and it definitely was NOT my major in college. For a lot of entry level jobs, like an HR assistant, you will not have to have a degree. However, there is a lot of stuff you need to know so I would definitely recommend the certificate program at the very least. A degree is always a good idea, just because it will open more doors and get you more money. However, I understand that is not reasonable for everyone. Degrees are great, but ultimately it is the knowledge of the industry, a great personality, and passion for the field that will land you the first job.
- I suggest you investigate getting a PHR certification first...and strongly recommend you obtain it via live classroom session - not just self-study (it's a 12-week program). The curriculum for the PHR will give you a perspective to the technical side, and the classroom participation will allow real-time networking with HR personnel and a variety of HR-related issues they deal with - from a diverse range of companies. A bachelor's degree in communications, business, organizational development, or even poli-sci is a great option vs. a degree specifically in HR. Pursue a Master'$ in HR.
- No. U don't get good job with cert in hr. You have to do MBA or atleast MHRM, if possible through regular stream, not through distance education. If at all u wish to do regular or distance course, go for ICFAI MBA-HR, otherwise go for MHRM distance edn from Pondicherry Central University as these two are well recognised across the industry. good luck.
- There probably are I guess it depends on what you consider a good job. I worked with DBM Technologies teaching QS 9000, ISO 9002, safety, msds, how to read control plans, and how to use various gages, and of course how to run their machines, packaging etc. Of course you could always get a job in HR somewhere and keep your eyes open for other opportunities. Also you could work and still continue your education to open up more opportunities for yourself. I worked with the HR manager, supervisor, plant manager and work cell coordinators and I never even finished high school(11th grade was as far s i got)I made at the time 13.75 and that was back in 1999I
