Family Resource Center? I am a mother of 2 and I am looking to open a family rescource center in my town.(a place where toddler & preschooler can go to interact with other kids there age, parent can get information about resources in the town, just diffrent activities for kids & parents, a place for them to bond.) I don't know how I would go about doing it I was told to contact the Early Childhood Council (ECC) or Children Partnership Program (CPC) but I can't get any information on either (I am from spencer, ma) I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of anything like this and knew how to get funding for this type of program?

I need funding for an autism center? We are a resource and activity center for families of autistic children. We do not have 501c3 status. I need coverage of my salary and to hire an assistant. We opened in October 2005. We have no income and am looking for donors. Suggestions, ideas would be wonderful. Spending a lot of time surfing for possibilities has not been fruitful. We have wonderful families on board and active. I thought we would be in a better place financially by now. I am great at groveling for in-kind donations but our phone is about ot be disconnected, we need rent money and I am looking at having to drasticly cut my time committment because I have a large family to feed and bills to pay. I currently volunteer all my time to run the center and donate a lot of my own money.
SO IMPORTANT!!! Seriously? Im dead i have to have a starting sentence or paragraph for an essay about family....husband abuse and children that were abused. CAN U GUYS GIVE ME A STARTING SENTENCE??? A nice educational one!! heres some of my essay: There are numerous definitions of abuse that encompass physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, and psychological harm caused by family members or strangers towards a child or even an adolescence (Volpe 1996). Abuse leaves behind multiple psychological affects on children (Family Resource Center 2008). When someone learns to transfer a natural response from one stimulus to another, it is known as “classical conditioning”, (Sproule 2001). This can be used on those children who might be psychologically affected by abusive acts. By using Ivan Pavlov’s discovery, we can realize that if a child who is abused sees or even hears the abuser, that child will react and shows his or her fear towards the abuser (Sproule 2001). He or she may also be facing symptoms such as anxietyWhen something is “cyclical” it means that it happens over and over again. Abuse is known to be cyclical and it is passed down to others. When a child comes from a family who has experienced abuse in his/her family life, they are more likely to abuse other people in the society. For instance, when a child witnesses his/her parents fighting, that child will very likely act the same way in the future towards his/her spouse. Therefore, this proves that those children who are abusive in the society have faced the same situation before and they learned that behavior which is known as “a change in knowledge or behavior as a result of experience” or “nurture”. The nature and nurture debate once again can be argued in this aspect as well because children tend to learn or inherit many aspects from their parents which are a big reason in the way they act.
Can someone please review a part of my college acceptance letter? ? i mean spelling, grammar and just if it makes sense and all. any feed back? applying to SDSU, SFSU, CSUF, CSULA with a 2.62. please help! really nervous. this is the question: Describe any volunteer, extracurricular activities, or work experience in which you are or have been involved in the past two years. this is my response: I have been involved in several activities in the past two years, for example: participating in the Zone 5 in the City: Art Sustaining Nature; A project which I was able to work with professional artists to explore issues of sustainability through installations in the Audubon Center. Another activity I have been part of is Deliberating in a Democracy. Which purpose, is to expand our knowledge and abilities to successfully take part in deliberations that are associated with other countries. I’ve involved myself in joining video conferences with countries like Serbia and Lithuania. Where we get to discuss ideas and exchange experiences about democracy in each of our countries. I also have been part in volunteering at a soup kitchen on my free time after school. This experience has literally open up my mind, after seeing how many people really does have difficulty affording food. Working along side with a few selected college students, who attend Occidental College is a great experience by far. A group of students, from one of my classrooms, and I have organized, weekly activities together. We call ourselves FORCE for Social Change. Being the historian in La Raza Unida has also gotten me involved in more activities; such as volunteering at the Hathaway- Sycamores Child and Family Resource Center, and helping out in the event, “United Nations Day at Hathaway-Sycamore: Celebrating Peace, Culture, and Family.” As well, being a part of the Environmental Club does come with activities of its own. For instance, staying after the football games every Friday night, picking up everything that we are able to recycle; for the purpose in raising money to organize more activities for the club. Another clean up event that we have organized through the Environmental Club, is cleaning up our local streets early Sunday mornings. In addition to that, we have started taking it to a few of our local beaches and have cleaned up there as well. Apart from school related activities, I also have been able to sustain a job for about two years and two months now; gaining as much tennis knowledge as possible, at The Racket Doctor. this is for EOP.

Should any Church be allowed to flaunt the law-nationwide movement to give sanctuary to certain illegals? SALEM, Ore. (AP) - Religious leaders in the Salem-area are joining a nationwide movement to give sanctuary to certain undocumented immigrants. The move comes after immigration enforcement raids that have been separating parents from their US born children, according to Gayle McDougle, the pastor of First Congregation United Church of Christ in Salem. Participating churches in Salem don't plan initially to house noncitizens. But they will connect people with legal counsel, offer English as a second language courses, provide know-your-rights training, create accounts for donations and establish a family resource center where immigrants can gather in times of need. The move comes as Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski signed an executive order to bar undocumented immigrants in Oregon from getting a drivers' license. http://www.ktvz.com/Global/story.asp?S=7375256
Does everyone at the Town Hall meetings support Republicans? GOP Congressman Booed for Telling People to Turn Off Glenn Beck By Noel Sheppard (Bio | Archive) August 8, 2009 - 18:21 ET The media would like folks to believe that only Democrats are hearing it from constituents at town hall meetings this August, but given what happened to Rep. Bob Inglis (R-SC) Thursday evening, nothing could be further from the truth. As he spoke to a group of 350 citizens at the Upstate Family Resource Center in Boiling Springs, he asked an outspoken attendee why she was afraid of Barack Obama. Someone in the crowd suggested the Congressman watch Glenn Beck. Inglis replied, "Turn that television off when he comes on." This was not well-received by folks who started loudly booing their Representative as many stood up and left the buildin
My child attends an after school program offered by his school, but he is getting bullied. What should I do? To be precise, my child is in kindergarten, and the program is for K-5. The program is provided through the school, but I believe it operates under grant money through the Family Resource Center program in Kentucky. He has to stay after two days per week due to our work/class schedule. Our relationship with the staff (teacher's aides) has been rocky. We registered him for the program by filling out their paperwork a full week ahead of his first stay. The very first day I picked him up, the staff, whom I had not met, had lost the paperwork, yet still released him to me because he said I was "dad". They proceeded to lose the paperwork 2 more times before finally finding the original. I thought they were just poor with administrative tasks, but it got worse. I noticed right off hand that the kids were not segregated by age when I arrived. My son is the youngest each day when I pick him up, so he usually has no kids that want to play with him. Worse yet, there are hardly any toys and games, and usually the bigger kids hog those and he's left to his own devices. Sometimes he is happy if he happened to snag a box of Dominoes or something, and sometimes he looks miserable. It has been hard for us to see him not enjoy the time, as the after-school care program is supposed to involve some type of enrichment/physical education components that aren't being implemented. Anyway, two specific events have occurred this week that have erupted into a mess for us. On Monday, when I arrived, all of the kids were in the gymnasium. As I walk in, I don't immediately see my son, but hear a child crying by the wall. I turn around and he's got his head against the wall balling. I ask him what's wrong, and he stated one of the bigger kids had taken his ball and refused to let him play too. These kids were probably 4th grade at least. I apologize to him and let him know that not all kids are nice and know how to share, and we begin walking towards the staff who are happily gabbing away on the other side of the gym. I ask them what happened, and they stated only that there was a "sharing issue". I did not pursue this as much as I probably should have, but looking back at how unsupervised the kids are, I should have done more. I did make a mental note to watch my son's mood closely, as this is a good indicator of how things are going. On Wednesday of this week, I arrive and the kids this day are in the cafeteria. My son is sitting alone with no toys, but seems to be in a good mood, so he runs my direction and I walk towards the sign-out book The lady staffing the table doesn't say hello or anything else, but slides a piece of paper across the table in my direction. I read the title, and it is an aggressive behavior form. I paused, looked over the document, and ask her what happened. She stated that my son knocked over someone's blocks, and then the other kid pushed him down. I am ok with this so far. It's not beyond belief that this occurred, but I wanted more specific answers. I noticed the form was signed by a witness, so I asked the staffer who the signature belonged to, and it was her. I then ask her where the event occurred, and she stated in the cafeteria. I ask her who else saw the event, and it was only her. I asked where the other staff (there's usually just 2 of them) member was, and she stated that she was "talking to someone". I asked where the witness was when she saw this occur, and, this is what she said... in the gym! Ok, now I'm getting mad. So I ask how she saw it, and she looked nervous. There are some windows from the gym that can see the entrance to the cafeteria, but unless my son was magically knocking over blocks hovering in the doorway of the cafeteria, there's no way she saw it. She realized this too, and backpedaled and said she was just walking in from the gym. She was getting nervous and short with me, and she then explained that if my son was aggressive again, that he would not be able to attend this program again for a week. At this point, I haven't said a word to my son. I am not angry with him, but I feel that the staff hasn't been completely up front with me either. I pat my son on the head and tell him to get his backpack. I sign their form (shouldn't have done), sign him out, and head towards the hallway. At this point the staff member, I guess after regaining her confidence after I signed the form, yells after me that if I have a problem with the form, I can contact her supervisor. I heard her and didn't turn around. I continue down the hall and as almost reach the exit, I hear her, yelling now "DO YOU NEED HER NUMBER!?!" She was patronizing me, almost challenging me to respect her authority. I turned around with a fake smile and stated if I need the number I can find it myself, thanks. So I drive home and cool down a bit. My son is still in a good mood, so prior to engaging in TV, drawing, or toys, I I appreciate the quick and thorough responses. I do want to add that although I think there are several good ways for a child to stand up for themselves, I don't think a 5yo has many options vs. a 4th or 5th grader besides relying on adults who know how to prevent scuffles from escalating. He is a boy, and at some point we will talk about how to protect himself, but his first option will always be to walk away from situations that could escalate to violence. If that doesn't work, then we'll explore other options. Self-preservation is innate in most of us, but I'll make sure he can handle himself when the time arises. 5 years of age, in my humble opinion, is too young to begin enforcing physical retaliation.
Do you know where I can find a college textbook on abnormal psychology...the newest textbook (DSM V or VI)? This isn't for school...I'm just interested in that sort of thing. I've checked the local libraries around me...but couldn't find what I was looking for. I've checked at 2 family resource centers near where I live...but, no luck there, either. Now, there are some other bookstores in my general area...but I have not checked them, yet. Anyway, if you have any idea where I can find a book like this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Is there any way I can get in touch with President Obama, or one of his secretaries? I work in child care at a family resource centre in Canada, and there is a four-year-old I work with who talks a lot about Barack Obama. She is from Sudan, and has suffered much as her father abandoned her and her family once they arrived in Canada. Her mother went into a serious depression and her children were temporarily put in foster care while her mother got help for her depression. This little girl has heard people talk about Obama being the first black president of the USA. She wanted me to show her on a map where Obama lives, and she has told me and other staff on numerous occasions that she wants to go see where President Obama lives. I don't know that she will ever get the chance, but I would like to President Obama to know that he has made such a strong impression on a four-year-old. The fact that he is te president of the USA is making a difference in the life of this little girl, and I hope that it will continue to inspire and motivate her through her life so that she may be able to move beyond the poverty in which she now lives.

pregnancy story help? I am doing a speech on abortion, and i need a story to make my audience vision themselves that they are in a situation and are pregnant. I want to tell them other alternatives that they have such as adoption--and that it's important to talk to family members/pregnancy resource centers before deciding what to do.. I wanted to do something like: You recently had unprotected sex and now are pregnant. You have to choose between keeping the child and giving up my dreams, giving up my child, and killing an unborn baby. Etc. etc. i need help coming up with a better story...please help!
I have a family member that was diagnosed with Myeloma today.? Are there any good support groups, hospitals, specialty centers or web sites that anyone could recommend? We live in Michigan near Detroit. Any suggestions on what I could do as a step daughter. I am going to be there and give my support. But I feel like there is more I can do. I am worried about my mother too. They said my stepfather has 10 years max. This sickens me. Cancer is something my family has never had to deal with, so I need all the help I can get with resources.

Could you take on the responsibility or would it be too much for you to handle? ...I wanted to get my point across that if your out having sex and you know that you could get pregnant then you should be responsible for having to raise the baby and not take the easy way out or a "quick fix" to your problem please please help...this has been racking my brain all night and i honestly can't think of anything! this is really important to me!
please make this pregnancy story sound better!? =)? am doing a speech on abortion, and i need a story to make my audience vision themselves that they are in a situation and are pregnant. I wanted to do something like: "You and your partner recently had unprotected sex. A pregnancy test is taken, and the test comes out positive--you are in fact pregnant. You are now faced with having to choose between A) keeping the child , B) giving up your child, and C) killing an unborn baby. Most of you probably think that option C would be a quick fix to solve your problem, but you are wrong..You need to take into account that you had unprotected sex, and know the responsibilities that may occur along with having unprotected sex..When having sex, you are to expect the unexpected and if you think you are old enough and mature enough to have sex, you are old enough to take on the responsibility of raising a baby. need an answer from Human Resource Personnel? Would like to know, how to answer a major question, for a job interview. The question being what have I been doing since I've been unemployed for two years? I want to answer correctly and I don't want to sound dumb, so I need coaching if you will on how to answer this question. My answer is I've been attending workshops at my local career center, and I have been helping out family, (doing laundry, help in packing, unpacking, looking for apartments for family, and of course looking for a job). How can I say all of that without sounding dumb? Another question, I do not have any references from my last jobs, only because I know that two will give good references, and one will say that my attendence was horrible. Which is was horrible, because I was working two jobs, pulling 60hours a week (i thought I was super human).Any advice on how to get references? I really want this job, and I would really like the oppurtinity to show that I am an excellent candiate for this job i need help! Thanks!
Trying to start a SIDS outreach center...? So here's my idea: I am currently in college persuing a degree in childcare development. I hope to expand upon that degree and eventually persue a phd in child education or psychology. But what I would really like to do is start an outreach center in my community for all families affected by SIDS. The program would focus on everything from SIDS prevention education (Back to Sleep, creating a safe enviroment, prenatal care, help with quitting smoking etc.) to grief counseling and support groups for families, and specialized counseling for siblings who have lost a brother or sister to SIDS. The program would also offer services for relatives of the family who have lost babies to SIDS to better enable communication and healing among family members (and friends). I've got so many ideas and I definitely want to start the planning process while I'm in school. Do you think this sounds like a resource people would use? Good idea, bad idea? Just looking for general opinions. *This center would also offer full services for any family who has lost a child for whatever reason. I just don't feel that there are truly adequate resources available in many places that are free.
Problems with family members that makes you want to get away from them? I'm venting, sorry so long. What do you do during weddings, not go? Or go and sit elsewhere? Father - thinks everyone owes him so much respect because he is the father, yet he doesn't have to act like a father. He just doesn't know any better. Thinks it's owed to him, while he continues to gripe and complain, we are to remain silent while he carrys on and on like the emperor with no clothes. Mother - Extremely self centered, unable to think beyond her own feelings and suspicious, so quick to sting without reasoning abilities. Very poor decision making skills because she is thinking of herself only while she has five children. The family went no where fast, with ill mannered and vile acting siblings. Like a stone, with no feelings except her own fears for herself, while no compassion whatsoever for anything else unless it relates to herself. Was driving me to the airport after I was visiting last Thanksgiving. While we were visiting a friend of mine, she and her husband wanted to quickly departed so they wouldn't have to drive me to the airport. Figured my friend would do it, which is what I've always done, but I'm THATCLOSE to TELLING HER OFF. There have been times where our family could have moved ahead materially and she always made the wrong decision, so focused on only saving herself at the expense of her children. Always saying things like I have SO many children (meaning I could forget about you) and WHEN am I going to LIVE??? It NEVER occurs to any of these morons a win win. Sister 1 - Thinks she is being coy and fakes helplessness while making others responsible for her foolishness. Ignorant and myopic approach, spineless and negative while using others for food and resources all the while convinced that she is more clever in spite of all evidence to the contary. Sister 2 - Sociopath, no feelings, attention starved, doing negative things to maintain control and attention. Perplexed by feelings and how to act appropriately. Angry, controlling and defensive, bitchy and controlling, extremely offensive to others, insensitive, will run other anyone to get herself ahead, while pretending to be compassionate by doing things like going to Costa Rica to save sea life. Sister 3 - Born again religious fanatic, constantly bored while she is boring, talks about religion at parties, sits next to me to get some attention while dropping food on my clothes "by accident" or borrowing my new lip brush and then "accidently" dropping it in the trash in a public restroom. Judgemental and thinks that the book, The Giving Tree is really great while having NO comprehension for the tree. Thinking that things are right with how the boy behaved in the book. Expects to be given and receiving, while offering nothing. EXPECTS it. Brother - Negative as all get out, hostile, jealous, misery loves company, thinks only of his very small self. Commented to an ex of mine, whom I completely loved and was devoted to - You shouldn't marry into this family because I have schizophrenia. I hate them, most of time. What to do? I've always try to be above them and have been pretty sucessful at it so far, but I'm at the point where I might crack if I see them again. I've tried my ENTIRE life to need nothing from them, they expect me to expect NOTHING. While they are so needy, selfish, greedy, self absorbed. I am always expected to be the "better person" while they have no such expectations for themselves. It's my fault in that I've always try to accomodate and be silent about it, what gets me is that is is NOT apreciated, acknowledged and I am EXPECTED to give more and get less or nothing. Thank you for all for your answers. Families are often our worst enemies, it's good to know I'm not the only one experiencing this, even though it seems like it. My dad went into my childhood stuff, like collectibile cards, greeting cards, my sticker collection, etc. All my favorite stuff. He threw out what he didn't want and kept what he wanted for himself. I didn't realize it until years later, when he gave me a greeting card from my own childhood collection. I can't even find the words to express how ignoramous they are. I looked all over the world, honestly wondering what was wrong with these people, my family. I have yet to meet more vile, ill mannered folk in all my searching. I learned more with a teenage gang than in my own family, they had more honor and standards. Believe me, I looked for answers because there was a BLACKHOLE in my own family. I notice some remaining left overs of this kind of behavior and treatment that is affecting my personality. Like an abusive boss or boyfriend that treats me like doormat, why? You first think that I've put up with crap before, it's ain't nothing. Or I can deal with this, it ain't nothing.

How do I get out of this mess I'm in? I'm married 20 yrs. to a man I hate. He's been abusive to me in the past and is abusive to our 15 yr. old son presently. I've called the police, Children's Services and am involved with Women's Resource Center, all of which have been little or no help. There's no family to turn to. He owns the house and won't leave, nor would I be able to afford it if he did. I've been saving money without his knowledge with which to leave with but will only be able to afford public housing which I've been denied from due to past credit problems which he caused. I could make payment arrangements with those creditors in order to qualify for the housing but then I won't be able to afford it. Any ideas?
Has anyone else ever seen a "Ruby doll" self esteem poster? Does anyone know where to buy them? Okay, so a while ago I went to the local Family Planning. Dealing with their staff was a real pleasure and their counselors are awesome, they really know what they're doing. While I was in one of the offices following my appointment I noticed that there was a semi-motivational/self-esteem poster of a rather Rubanesque looking barbie doll, stretched out on a divan with the words "There are 3 million women in the world who don't look like super models and only eight who do" and at the bottom a small "makers seal" and a notice saying something like "know your mind, love your body" sort of thing. I fell in love with the poster and was hoping to get a copy of it to put up in the GLBTQ/health resource center at my university but I can't find it anywhere and the counselor couldn't remember where she'd gotten it. Can anyone help me find this poster?

please revise this abortion story for me.? I had a friend who had an abortion without talking about it with anyone, and then a year later she found out she was pregnant again. Her fear of being an unfit mother, money issues, and just the usual things women fear about having a child. She decided to keep the second child she was pregnant with, but what I never understood was what could have possibly changed within a years time for her to be ready to be a mother? SHe now carries the guilt of aborting her baby and will have to live with that decision for the rest of her life. abortion paper revision! an easy 10 pts =)? am doing an abortion essay and i need someone to make this story sound a little better: I actually had a friend who had an abortion without talking about it with anyone, and then a year later she found out she was pregnant again. Her fear of being an unfit mother, money issues, and just the usual things most women fear about having a child. She decided to keep the second child she was pregnant with, but what I never understood was what could have possibley changed within a years time for her to be ready to be a mother? She now carries the guilt of aborting her baby, and with have to live with that decision for the rest of her life. Some centers can help you find financial assistance in your area if you decide to parent your child, and can also help find a place to live while being pregnant. i wanna emphasize the importance of talking to parents/friends/the babies father for support so if someone could elaborate on that i would appreciate that also!! =)

abortions speech story help!?=)? Let say you may be trying to decide whether you want a child. Too late! You already have a child! The only decision to be made now is whether to be a responsible parent and to protect your little son or daughter-or to hire someone to abort him/her. If you do the latter, you will have to live the rest of your life with the guilt of having made that selfish decision, because you know, deep down and regardless of what they tell you at the abortuary, that your baby is alive and that killing him/her is murder. If you were to decide to do the right thing and have the baby, it would be difficult to raise the child since it wasn't a planned pregnancy, but if you think your old enough to have sex and know the consequences, then you should be responsible for having to raise the child. Family and friends may be available for support, and if they arent, pregnancy resource center are. These centers are ready to help youfree of charge and all centers give pregnancy testing and counceling. Some centers can help find financial assistance and can also help find a place to live while being pregnant and will discuss other alternatives with you. There are many couples that are unable to conceive a child and want to adopt one. The women that cannot care for the baby shold give their child up for adoption to families who are willing to take care of the baby. ***we have to do an action part at the end of the speech I wanna add something like "i hope that if ever faced with this situation, you would avoid having the abortion and decide to raise the baby." i also need help wrapping up the speech esp the action part!! please help =)

ENGLISH TEACHER! HELP!! correct my grammar? Here are my writting. ( i am preparing my interview , you know I want perform very well, so plz correct my words) My background: I graduated from Chuan-Shang medical university in 1997. At the same year, I passed OT national exams to get my OT license. At the first 2 years, I started to work in the Rehab Hospital which were very good for me to enhance my skills quickly in OT field , coz we have many patients with different diagnose and we had case presentation and case conference every week, and every staff needs to do teaching too which means undergraduate students, seniors come to your OT room, you demo ,teach and explain ,supervise them how to provide treatments. So I feel after these 2 years work experience , my basis knowledge in OT field was solid. After that, I moved back my city to work. And at the beginning, I work in the Hospital too, but I feel like I did get as many new experiences as what I got in the previous Hospital and my job became so routine…So I decided to change my work environment , to work at special educational resource center which belongs to our county government. I like this job very much, coz It is not only direct intervention to children , but I also were responsible of establishing rehab system into public schools in my county. Therefore, my role in my job became very diversification. I become OT instructor, demonstrating special teachers how to do therapy in their classroom. I become a teacher, giving many speeches about how to dealing with special needs students , according the aspect of OT. I become a consultant, answering any questions related to students from regular teachers, special teachers, principles, special education professors, and client’s family.
will people go to jail for voter fraud? ALBANY, GA (WALB) - There are allegations of voter fraud, as a Dougherty County family claims the vote of a mentally challenged relative was stolen. They say the adult day rehab program where Jack Justice attends took him to vote, without the family's permission. What's worse is Justice says the person helping him wouldn't cast the ballot for his choice for President. Jack Justice has been voting since he turned 18. Typically his family takes him to their neighborhood precinct. This time Primus Industries, his adult day rehab program, took him to vote. His family was shocked, but what shocked them more was that Jack claims that his aide commandeered his vote. "They told me to vote for Obama, I said no I wanted to vote for McCain," said Jack Justice, a voter. Jack Justice says the person helping him, selected Obama's name. His sister says the family is often asked to sign a permission slips for trips, but for this they were never notified. "No permission slips, no nothing, he just came home and said he had gone," said Nancy Justice, Jack's sister. We questioned election officials about the procedure, who say they recall the group coming in to vote and an aide was helping the individuals, but they must sign an oath that they'll cast the ballot however the voter prefers. "So it plainly says the person should tell the person how they want to vote and then they help them mark it," said Carolyn Hatcher, Dougherty County Elections Supervisor. Election officials say they can't follow people into the booth to see what happens. We contacted the Albany Area Community Service Board who oversees Primus Industries. They say they do their best to protect the safety, treatment, and care of the individuals in their programs. They also said they'll look into the allegations and conduct an internal investigation if necessary. Nancy Justice is just upset the incident happened. "For me it was kind of pushing it to the limit there to get him to vote for someone in particular who they wanted him to vote for," said Nancy Justice. Election officials say the family's only option is to file a challenge to the election results. The Justice's are considering their options. Advance voting will begin this Monday at the Riverfront Resource Center on Pine Avenue. Advance voted will run through October 31st. No one will be able to vote the Monday prior to election day. Can you please check my paragraph on christopher columbus? My name is Cristoforo Colombo. I never thought I would be one of those people who wrote their lives on paper but today that has all changed. Why you may ask? Well today I was given the power by Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand to hopefully try to find a quicker way to the spice islands. How you may ask? Well you are certainly full of questions, simply by sailing west. My theory is if I keep sailing west I will somehow land in India. From there I will be able to collect all the spices and bring it back to my home lands which will be much easier for trading. Before I explain my excitement over this trip I want to tell you a little about my childhood and how I began sailing. I am originally from Genoa, Italy and my father is Domencio Colombo and mother is Suzanna Fontanarossa. My family used to manufacture and trade woolen fabrics. I also have three sisters and one brother whose names are unimportant. They are unimportant because I am not very comfortable talking about my childhood life. The reason for this is seeing as my family came from such a humble background makes it harder for me to associate with kings and queens. So I will only leave you with that much information on my family. I have loved sailing ever since I was a child, by my twenties I was a skilled sailor who could pilot my own boat. (student resource center gold document) I have made many voyages since than and was the captain of many boats. this is just the start for our class we have to write journal entries pretending to be christopher columbus. are my punctuation and facts right? im sorry ik this is a lot to ask but i dont have anyone else in my family that can check and i will reward best answer. thank u so much! thank you all so much i cant express in words how much i appreciate this. and janet d is it possible i can contact you through messenger? rachael d can we contact through messenger?
Need help... I'm most likely to get fired.? My situation is kind of complex, but I will try to explain as clear as possible. I am a student at the university who works for the university. I work in my faculty's teaching and resource center. I got this job by my older sister who is also in the same faculty as I am. I have been working here for about 9 months. Right now in the present, my boss is away on absence of leave because of family matters that are particularly difficult on her. I offered to cover two shifts for my boss. On one of the shifts, I was an hour late coming to work and I took a 30 min break as well. I was late because I ran over time doing a school project and when I realized I was late, I called work and left a message but it did not reach anyone. I told the friend I was with (when leaving my school project), it was okay to study at the desk I was working at but not behind the desk. I told my sister about the situation and my boss's boss came in the middle of our small "discussion". I was surprised my boss's boss didn't fire me on the spot or the day after. I didn't know what to do and I still feel like I still don't. This will be my first time I'll get fired... if they do decide to fire me. My sister is pissed off at me cause I had tainted both our reputations, has scolded me, (not hit me... yet), was not talking, and is semi-talking right now. I've said sorry to her but she says its worthless and I can't soften the situation up by saying sorry. She's called me quite a few names and words describing myself as "ignorant, stupid, irresponsible". This almost pushed me to extent of abandoning my studies and moving out of house we live together with our family and completely isolating myself. Sometimes I don't know what to do with her or I can even make her settle down. My family knows that I will most likely get fired, but also knows that I am MOST likely to get hired for a better job I applied before this happened. I wrote a email to my boss apologizing and explaining about the incident one week later. I still have no idea what to do with my boss's boss. Its been a week now and my boss's boss hasn't fired me yet... I am waiting for them to fire me. There was written email regarding to EVERYTHING that happened in that day to the whole staff. I dunno what to do anymore. How can I handle this without escalating the situation further?
Help with appeal letter? Dear Appeals Committee My name is Clayton Council and I attended The University of Bridgeport from August 2008 to May 2009. On June 5, 2009, I received a letter from your office stating that I have been separated from the school due to a low GPA. My first thought when receiving this letter was a great feeling of disappointment in myself and I felt that I’ve let my family down. Yes this is definitely an eye opener that made me realize that I really wasn’t putting my all into my education at UB. Being a freshman in College has been a great challenge especially when you are so used to having curfews and being disciplined by your parent while at home. I’ve let those values get away with me while at College and realize that I need to bring them with me everywhere I go. I’ve entered into College still standing under my Mom wings and wasn’t used to being separated from that security. Although my Mom has brought me up properly, I lacked the sense of responsibility for myself, which is greatly needed in life. I feel as though I have matured considerably as a person, now understanding that I need to be more responsible for my actions and myself. I am now aware of what steps I need to take in order to become a shining student at University of Bridgeport. The reflection of my previous semesters at UB will not be mirrored if you accept me back. My studies will be my first priority. The first thing that I have to do is meet with professors after my classes. Secondly, I will keep myself on the right path to success and will make use of the resources available on campus constantly making trips to the academic resource center for extra help. The student library will be a quiet place for my homework and studies instead of my dorm room. I also plan to repeat my C.S.102 and computer ethics classes this semester and repeating my physics class next semester. With the way of thinking I have now, retaking those will not only increase my grade point average, but will prove that I really have matured. It would prove that I earned my place in the University of Bridgeport. This situation has taught me that I shouldn’t give up when I am faced with adversity. I am eager to take on the challenges ahead and give it my all in order to be successful at UB. This has also taught me that although things look bad now, not give up and definitely do not repeat the same mistakes again. I am ready to take on the challenges that will allow me to achieve success in the future. Success is not something that can be conquered overnight but can be achieved within a lifetime.
(UK) Why are there no charities specifically for white British people? Well I expect the obvious answer would be that skin colour, or race specific charities wouldn't be allowed by law because that would be racist, but if that's the case then all these organisations must be illegal. Maybe he's busy. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/rachel_sylvester/article6737832.ece Skitzee2k, but do you think the Spanish have a law which forbids their own people having pubs and clubs? Somehow I doubt it. Before some smartbottom spots it, yes I know there are a few in the middle that are "Black country" charities. Doh, silly me! strike123_out, I see so because some people who have the same skin colour as me did something hundreds of years ago, now it's payback time for whitey, is that it? Forgive me for sounding naive, but isn't that racism? angrymammal barriers don't exist for different groups, that would be illegal. if they did Trevor Phillips would be on the case quick smart. Aren't we constantly being told that we're all the same under the skin, how are Asian people's eyes or Black people's diabetes any different from whites? Skitz "the people In Africa would be Black African" So do you refer to people from Pakistan as brown Pakistanis? What about people from China, are they yellow Chinese? Something tells me you don't use those terms. So why use them for us?
Looking for work - caregiver - Vancouver WA? Hi! So I just recently moved to Vancouver WA and am having problems finding work as a caregiver. I was working for a quadriplegic gentleman as a caregiver before I moved but had had no previous experience. I know that having my NAC will help tons, but I just turned 18 and got out of a bad family situation on the other side of the state, so I need to get my GED (which I am taking in April) first and need a way to support myself till then..... So I guess my question is: Does anyone know of any resources for this type of work in Vancouver? I have tried the the disability resource center but they keep telling me to just go to the nursing homes (which I am doing as well). But I'm nearly positive that there are other people in need of one one care in order to maintain their independence who would be more than willing to work with me. Both myself and my previous employer (he is a professor of disability, and DSS coordinator at a state university) are surprised I have had this much trouble

I need to know this ASAP - I have an abusive ex boyfriend, a kid, and? I have a very abusive ex boyfriend and have a restraining order against him. He has broken his restraining order not once, not twice, but three times. I have reported this to the police but all they have done was filed it down for future reference because his court case is coming up on January 6th. He has kept me hostage in a relationship for two years. For two years I've been trying to leave him and he keeps finding me and dragging me back. But finally he got busted for running away from the cops when I called them (right in the nick of time this time.) It was a rather big deal that day to say the least. My mind is a really big blur when it comes to what happened (because of the stress and also I am not in the best of health. I have been battling a severe illness for a very long time.) I have given counseling with him a try. Hell I even went to counseling myself because I thought I was the problem, not him. He made me believe and manipulated me into thinking that I was the one who had all the issues. Although I admit I do have a few. I am a lesbian with a slight case of g.i.ds so I'm afraid he will use that against me and try to get custody of our son. I am NOT MARRIED to this man. We are only boyfriend and girlfriend. He kept saying in the state of Montana that when you live with someone for a long time you're classified as married? Idk how that happens I think he's full of shit. But we haven't been living together since he's been busted and that's going on a month so I think he's out of luck with that excuse. But anyways, I'm sorry for my rambling. I do have an appointment with the Women's Resource Center tomorrow so I can get some help from them and hopefully get a lawyer. I just came out of the closet to my mom on Christmas and she's actually glad that I'm going to start living life how I want. I was together with that guy for three going on four years. The first year was fine. The last two turned into hell. He was already an abusive a****** before the baby was born. But after the baby he got worse and expected me to do everything while he sat on his ass and dealt drugs/did drugs with people. One of the things that makes me the most pissed off is he stole my medical marijuana just to get HIGH. He abused me into writing a letter stating that I was physically unable to go pick up my medication from my doctor, therefor he picked it up and he took half of it. And then when I couldn't pay for my meds myself he picked them up and took most of it. He tried to make me give up my Power Of Attorney, Power Of Medical Attorney, and custody of my son. Now what I want to know is, can I take my son out of state? We have no parenting plans issued by the court or anything like that yet. He is not my ex husband, he is my ex boyfriend and I also have a restraining order against him. I want to move my son and I back to Oregon because of the following reasons- My family is there. My school where I'll be attending come next fall is there. The elevation level is around 4,058 FT ft here and over there it's only 8 FT there. The elevation level causes my migraines to be worse. My family wants to help move me and my son to Canada eventually so I can get as far away from him as possible because he's a very dangerous person. So I'm going to live there first for a while, save up, and move. The GLB community is more friendly in Oregon than here in this small place and I'm also already looked down on because of my different skin color. So any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
Could Child care be linked to future violence in society thanks to the femi extremist revolution? Child Care Linked To Assertive, Noncompliant, and Aggressive Behaviors Vast Majority of Children Within Normal Range The more time children spent in child care from birth to age four-and-a-half, the more adults tended to rate them, both at age four-and-a-half and at kindergarten, as less likely to get along with others, as more assertive, as disobedient, and as aggressive, according to a study appearing in the July/August issue of Child Development. However, the researchers cautioned that for the vast majority of children, the levels of the behaviors reported were well within the normal range. In fact, a mother's sensitivity to her child was a better indicator of reported problem behaviors than was time in child care, with more sensitive mothering being linked to less problem behaviors. Higher maternal education and family income also predicted lower levels of children's problem behaviors.. The findings are from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development. "It's important to put these findings in perspective," said Duane Alexander, M.D., Director of the NICHD. "The amount of time in child care is one of several family and child care factors linked to children's behaviors, both positive and negative." The NICHD launched the study of early child care in 1991. The 27 researchers conducting the study have been following the development of more than 1000 children from across the United States. The children were enrolled in the study at birth and come from an ethnically and economically diverse sample of families. In addition to focusing on time in child care, the current article focused on several other aspects of the child care experience: the quality of the child care arrangement, the proportion of time that the child was in a child care center, the proportion of time that the child was cared for in a group setting, and the number of times that the mother reported that the child started a new child care arrangement. In the current article, the researchers describe how child care experiences in the first four-and-a-half years of the children's lives relate to children's social competence and behavior problems, when the children were four-and-a-half years old, and later, when they reached kindergarten. The study measured children's social behavior by having mothers, child care providers and teachers complete standardized ratings of children's behavior problems and social competence-their ability to get along with children and adults and their ability to follow social rules. Information about the number of hours the children were in child care was obtained from the mothers every 3-4 months. The link between time in child care and problem behavior was greater than the link between infant temperament and problem behavior or maternal depression and problem behavior. This link between time in child care and problem behavior was also greater for children in center-based care than for children in other types of care. The study authors noted that, of the children who displayed problem behaviors, the majority were well within the normal range. A small proportion of children showed levels of problem behavior that should be monitored to see if they developed into more serious problems. The proportion of children showing these higher levels of problem behavior is commensurate with the proportion of children in the U.S. population as a whole who also display these problems. The link between time in child care and problem behavior occurred across all family backgrounds and all types and quality of care. The authors added that the time in child care during infancy did not appear to have a greater bearing on the children's behavior than did the time they spent in care after infancy. The researchers also found evidence that children who experienced better quality child care-in which caregivers provided intellectual stimulation and were warm, positive, and sensitive to child behavior-had fewer child caregiver/teacher-reported problem behaviors and conflict than did children who experienced lower quality care. The researchers noted, however, that high quality child care did not eliminate the link between hours in care and behavior problems. The researchers could find no threshold of child-care hours above which problem behaviors were especially likely to emerge. To illustrate the reported findings that were based on the information from the group as a whole, the researchers classified the children into four groups, based on the amount of time they spent in child care: 16 percent of children were in child care an average of 0-9 hours a week 38 percent for 10-29 hours 36 percent for 30-45 hours 10 percent for more than 45 hours a week. In each of these groups, a minority of the children had a high score on behavior problems. However, the percent of children with high scores increased with the increase in the number of hours children spent in child care. Children were rated by mothers and teachers on items such as: child demands a lot of attention; argues a lot; bragging and boasting; cruelty, bullying or meanness to others; destroys things belonging to others; disobedient at home; disobedient at school; gets into many fights; lying or cheating; screams a lot. One of the important findings of this study is that the strongest predictor of how well a child behaves was a feature of maternal parenting that the researchers described as sensitivity--how attuned a mother is to a child's wants and needs. The behaviors of the sensitive mother are child centered; the sensitive mother is aware of the child's needs, moods, interests, and capabilities. She allows this awareness to guide her interactions with her child. Children of more sensitive mothers were more competent socially, less likely to engage in disruptive behavior, and less likely to be involved in conflicts with their caregivers and teachers. Similarly, children whose parents had higher incomes and who were more highly educated also were more socially competent and less likely to engage in problem behaviors. The study authors noted that their study was not designed to prove a cause and effect relationship. That is, the study cannot prove whether spending more time in child care causes children to have more problem behaviors. The behavior problems the researchers documented might be due to some other characteristic of the children or of their environment. Accompanying editorials in the July/August issue of Child Development offer possible explanations. Findings previously reported from the NICHD Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development showed that more time in care predicted more problem behavior among two-year olds, but not among three-year olds; less sensitive maternal behavior and less harmonious mother-child interaction when children were 6-36 months of age; as well as higher rates of insecure attachment to the mother if the mother's parenting was relatively insensitive. Preliminary findings pertaining to the research questions posed and answered by the current article were presented at the meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development in April of 2001. In the future, the researchers plan to focus on the relation between hours spent in child care and children's behavior during the school years. ### The NICHD is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the biomedical research arm of the federal government. Should we welcome the Ahmadiyya Muslim Sect into our small town to build a Mosque and Convention Center? The town of Walkersville, MD is presently attempting to prevent an Islamic sect from building a Muslim mosque and convention complex on 224 acres of farmland in a small farming community . Supposedly twenty families would use this center all year long and a week long convention each summer would draw approximately 5000 worshippers from across the US. The area is not equipped to handle a large crowd. The town is opposed to the sale of the land for this use because the resources; water, police, traffic is unable to support a convention center of any type. The underlying opposition is a fear of Islam, terrorism and the erosion Christian community values. Do you think that the Ahmadiyya are a threat to the American way of life?
Spiritually speaking, does it surprise you that the Duggar family...? ...has copy and paste responses email responses that can rival even the VN responses in their copy-and-pastery? Hello from the Duggar Family, Thank you for emailing us, we love hearing how God is working in lives. We are sorry due to the volume of emails we are receiving we are unable to have a personal response to each email. We do try to read each message and pray for the needs mentioned. We would like to share some resources that have helped our family and we pray they will be a blessing to you. We do not make any money off these resources, we are just trying to highlight some dynamic Bible teaching that has drawn our family close to God and to each other. We encourage you to sign up for the Free Daily Success Emails. They are excellent. You can sign up at http://iblp.org/iblp/discipleship/dailysuccess/ . They are packed full of truths that will inspire and challenge you. Also, Dr. S.M. Davis’ DVD messages have helped us raising our children. He has many topics on family relationships that are very helpful at http://www.solvefamilyproblems.com/rebels_under18.html . More excellent resources for raising Godly young people can be found at http://visionforum.com . For young ladies we highly recommend the book “Before you meet Prince Charming”. Many have emailed us about SOS ministries in El Salvador. You can contact them to get involved at http://www.sosminternational.com/ . Also, the Jim Sammon's Financial Freedom Seminar has helped Michelle and I to become one minded in the direction we are headed. It has encouraged me to be the spiritual leader that I need to be. It has made us and saved us thousands of dollars by learning practical Bible principles that apply to every day life decisions. Jim Sammons is a real estate developer, the principles he shares apply to everyone of us. He shares story after story in a funny way that my whole family enjoys watching it. It costs about $109 for the textbook and 10 disk video series which is available at http://store.iblp.org/products/FFSP/, it is one of the best investments you can make into your family and business. We enjoy watching one hour a week, for example, like on a Saturday evening as a family or with friends and then discuss it. The Bible principles will challenge you to give every area of your life to God in a new and deeper way and your family will grow closer together as each one individually seeks God. This seminar has helped us get out of debt and has given us creative business ideas to support our large family. This will pay for it's self with your first financial decision. You can't afford not to watch it! If you have not discovered you can be forgiven for everything you have done wrong, we want to share with you Jesus loves you no matter what mistakes you have made! Christianity is not about being perfect, but about receiving forgiveness. The Bible says, "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, (make a mental list and ask Jesus to forgive you for all the things that you have done wrong and ask His forgiveness even for the things that you can't remember; He remembers). Tell Him you make a choice to forgive those that have hurt you in your life. Then ask Him to come in and take over the control of your life and make you a new person. He promised He will. There is nothing you have done that you cannot be forgiven for, except not asking for forgiveness (even if you have been mean to others, self-centered, stolen things, committed moral sins, or murdered someone, he still loves you and will forgive you if you ask). It's FREE! People don't go to heaven because they are good, because everyone has done things wrong. We go to heaven because we have been forgiven! Jesus paid the penalty for our sin. That is what people call being saved. We are saved from Hell. You still will be ashamed of the mistakes you have made, but the guilt will be gone because you are forgiven. Jesus wants to become you best friend, He loves you! He wants you to ask Him and get His advice about every major decision in your life. You will see your whole life changing. He wants you to go back to people you have done things wrong to and ask for forgiveness for what you have done, telling them you have committed your life to Jesus and you now want to live for Him. You will still make mistakes in the future, but daily you pray to God and He will lead you. Here is an excellent website http://www.wayofthemaster.com/ , that will explain deeper about a relationship with Christ. We look forward to hearing how these resources have impacted your life. God bless you and your family as you follow Him! -Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar Proverbs 3:5,6,7 http://duggarfamily.com PS. Also Michelle’s book “The Duggar Family, 20 and counting” is out, it can be ordered at http://www.ch LOL. I just feel bad for the kids. I'm sure the Duggars are all polite, I'm sure their kids do well in school. But don't even try to tel me for a second that Jim Bob and Michelle, two human beings, can give all 19 of their offspring emotional support. That's not to say that I don't think two people can do that. But I think a couple that could is 1 in a billion, and I have yet to see one that I think could do a satisfactory job of emotionally caring for that many kids. *20 kids God, I forgot they popped out another... Hehe, wanted to see if I'd get a response.
Does anybody work for the Sprint call center in Las Vegas? I'm moving with my family to Las Vegas from Los Angeles next week, a few weeks ago I was contacted by the Sprint call center there in Vegas for a customer support position, the lady in human resources told me to contact her about the position when I get moved over. Well, next week we're moving and I need to contact her, however, her phone number is saved on our now broken cell phone. So I was curious if anybody had contact info for the call center, specifically the H.R. department, I really need to start working ASAP, and they said I can start first week of Feb... I tried looking on Sprint's website, and looking online via yellowpages and whatnot, but I've had no luck at all with any kind of contact info, I've also called Sprints general directory HR number, and they said they do not have contact information for the call centers, and that I need to contact someone more on a local level, I tried calling a few Sprint stores, and they had no clue. So I was hoping maybe someone around here is working there and could help me out. I'd be glad to put someone down as a referral for a bonus, I just need to get working! Thanks in advance! **Response to Michael** I haven't even got to go in to do my drug test yet. I was told by the lady I spoke with to give her a call when I knew when I was going to be in town. So I don't have papers from my drug test.
Why do Churches hold candlelight veils for illegals who have broke the laws -do you see churches holding? Why do Churches hold candlelight veils for illegals who have broke the laws -do you see churches holding candlelight veils for anyone else who breaks the law ?MORRISTOWN — The New Jersey Advocates for Immigrant Detainees will hold a candlelight vigil at St. Margaret's Church, at 6 Sussex Ave., at 6 p.m. Tuesday to support the rights of children who may be at risk of being separated from their families because of deportations or detentions.Morristown is a hotbed for immigration issues, given Mayor Donald Cresitello's support for 287(g), a controversial federal program that calls for deputizing police officers to serve as immigration agents. The mayor has yet to sign the agreement to put the program in place. The church where the rally will take place, St. Margaret's Church, is attended by many Hispanics, some of whom are undocumented. Officials said the vigil is intended to show support for children who live in households where at least one parent is undocumented or is a legal permanent resident. Participants will call for an end to raids by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, detentions and deportations because they cause children to be separated from their families. The participants will share stories of being separated from their families and will call for federal immigration legislation that prevents breaking up families. Diana Mejia, who heads the local immigrant resource center Wind of the Spirit, said the program will split families and divide the community. "The people here in Morristown reject the idea that immigrants are to be treated like criminals," she said. "People in our community from all walks of life are coming out in droves in support of all families who work and live in our town — with or without papers. We are all members of the same community." According to the American Friends Service Committee, an immigrant rights group, New Jersey has detained some 1,000 immigrants in county jails or the Elizabeth Detention Center. Morristown is one of 10 towns where an immigration reform vigil is taking place. The other towns include Bridgeton, Dumont, Freehold, Hightstown, Jersey City, Highland Park, Keyport, Montclair and Newark. http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20090912/COMMUNITIES/90911068/-1/newsfront&referrer=NEWSFRONTCAROUSEL

HE WAS CONVICTED OF 2ND DEGREE SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A MINOR AND INCEST.... I HAVE CALLED THE PRISON HE IS IN 2 TIMES. I WANT TO CONFRONT MY FATHER, TALK TO HIM ABOUT THINGS. HOW DOES SHE KNOW WHAT I NEED? I HAD NEVER MET HER. I WANT CLOSURE. THAT TOTALLY UPSET ME. THEY WERE ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT HIS REHABILITATION. ....WHAT THE HELL? SHOULDN'T THEY BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE VICTIM FIRST? THESE RAPISTS HURT OTHERS, POSSIBLY MAKING THEIR LIFE HELL FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES. MAKING THEM LIVE WITH FEARS, AND NIGHTMARES. I DON'T THINK THEY SHOULD COME FIRST! I THINK THE VICTIM SHOULD. THE SECOND TIME I PHONED THE PRISON I GOT A VOICE MAIL PRESSED SO I PRESSED 0 FOR AN EMERGENCY ,THEY THEN TRANSFERRED ME TO ANOTHER VOICE MAIL. I AGAIN PRESSED 0 (FOR AN EMERGENCY) ONE MORE TIME AND I WAS TRANSFERRED TO A GUARD HE ASKED IF IT WAS IMPORTANT, I SAID YES, HE TOLD ME HE WOULD GET SOMEONE FOR ME IMMEDIATELY. AND I WAITED ON HOLD FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THEN AGAIN GOT VOICE MAIL. I LEFT A MESSAGE ONCE AGAIN FOR THEM TO CALL ME. THEN I CALLED THE VINE SYSTEM TALKED TO A PERSON AND FOUND OUT HE COMES UP FOR PAROLE IN OCTOBER OF 08. THE VICTIM OFFENDER DIALOG WAS REFERRED TO A BARB IN JANUARY 2007 AND NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME AFTER THAT. THEY NOW PROMISE THAT I WILL HEAR FROM THEM IN A WEEK OR SO. VICTIMS RIGHTS NEED TO BE IN FORCED AND THEY NEED TO HAVE RESTITUTION NO MATTER WHAT THE CRIME. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO REOPEN RESTITUTION IF A NEW PROBLEM STARTS UP OR SOMETHING HAPPENS BECAUSE OF THE CRIME LATER IN LIFE. BECAUSE THERE WAS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO ME OR MY BELONGINGS I DON'T GET ANY RESTITUTION. I WILL BE ON MEDICATION ALL OF MY LIFE, I AM DISABLED BECAUSE OF THIS, I HAVE TO SEE DOCTORS, COUNCILORS AND PAY FOR GAS TO GET TO THEM. THIS IS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I ALSO STRUGGLE RAISING MY ELDEST DAUGHTER BECAUSE OF MY DISORDERS. I GOT INVOLVED IN DRUGS TO MASK MY FEELINGS RIGHT AFTER THIS HAPPENED AND LOST ALL MY CHILDREN. MY TWO BABY'S ALLISSANDRA LEELYNN BORN JUNE 28 LIVED IN MILWAUKEE THE LAST I KNEW(05). SERENITY MARIE BORN 02-07 LIVES IN NORTHERN WISCONSIN (06). I AM NOT ALLOWED TO SEE MY DAUGHTERS. I HAVE BEEN CLEAN FOR 3YEARS NOW. HOW CAN YOU PUT RESTITUTION ON LIVES LIKE THAT? I DID GET MY ELDEST TIFFANY DOB 12-3 BACK AND NOW I HAVE PRIMARY PHYSICAL PLACEMENT OF HER. I COULD TAKE CARE OF MY CHILDREN NOW. BUT ITS TOO LATE. I KNOW THIS IS PARTLY MY FAULT BUT IT IS PARTLY HIS. I CANT HAVE ANYMORE CHILDREN WITHOUT IVF AND THATS 11600. I DON'T HAVE THAT MONEY I AM DISABLED AND MY HUSBAND WORKS IN A FACTORY. INSURANCE DOESN'T COVER IT. I GOT MY TUBES TIED BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO BRING ANOTHER CHILD INTO A WORLD LIKE THIS. NOW I WANT TO SO THEY CAN HELP CHANGE IT BUT IT IS TOO LATE. THIS IS THE LETTER I AM SENDING OUT TO THE PRISON AND WHO EVER WILL LISTEN. MAYBE IF WE ALL GET TOGETHER WE CAN GET THIS FIXED. I DON'T WANT ANOTHER GIRL TO GO THROUGH WHAT I DID. AT THE BOTTOM IS A LIST OF VICTIMS RIGHTS THAT I FOUND ON THE WISCONSIN SEX OFFENDERS LIST. WISH THEY WORKED. To Whom it May Concern; 11/29/07 I am writing in regards to Norman Wilson DOC ID#: 00375807. My name is Jenifer and I am the victim of the crime, and his daughter, that he is currently serving time in Oshkosh Correctional Institution for. There are many different things that I need to say in this letter so that you fully understand the impact this has had and still has on me and my family. But first, I need to request some form of closure in this matter for me so that I am able to finally move on. I have requested this by pone and through the V.I.N.E. (VICTIM )It has been almost 9 years. This is the closure that I need very badly. My father has Hep C and is dieing. Before he dies I need to be able to speak with him so that i can move on. I do not care if it is a phone call, in a visit setting, or however else you could imagine to arrange this meeting. I really need to try to make him understand that he is still my father and I love him but at the same time I hurt and cannot forgive him. I need to tell him how this is effecting my family, my husband and daughter, and myself. I NEED to ask him "why". The answers he gives matters and at the same time doesn't matter to me at all. I just need an answer. I need to be able to ask. I would write him but writing would only give him time to think about his responses and fake emotion. I also don't believe that option will be a good closure to me. I also think he would be able to lie (better if he is or would lie). Hearing him or seeing him will tell me his emotions on the matter. I need to see if I can find at least some form of forgiveness for him so that I can better my life, or realize I have gotten answers and they did not help and then I can move on that way. I NEED this for MY well-being. It in no way can be anymore harmful to me then what is has been without me getting to say and ask what I need to. He has served half his sentence now. I still have only begun mine. I guess to understand what I go through I would like to explain my problems. I sleep about 4 hours a night, if that, still total. I have nightmares almost every night about what happened. I am on medication that allows me to sleep with out as many nightmares and sleep that long. I am afraid of people, I have problems with trust, I am agoraphobic (fear of leaving a safe place). I panic if I cant handle a situation (which can be as simple as,and has been, shopping), or over nothing at all. I have flashbacks-I see him, smell him. breath him. hear him-all as if it was happening again. No matter what else I have tried this still happens. I have been on medications and still take them, I see a councilor and a therapist and have since 1999. I go to support meetings. None of these things gives me the answers I need. I have spoken to my father but never really about what happened, he said he was sorry right after he got into the prision system, other then that it has been a lot of small talk---weather, his job, and his Hep C. The letters have helped me deal a little better with the extreme, horrible, hatred I used to have, now its a more tolerable hate. I just want these things better. I know they will never go away totally. Incest and rape go back in my family as far as I can find (which is only my grandparents as I no longer talk to that side of my family because they believe that my father was with in his rights.) My grandfather started mentioning having sex with me along with my father the next time he came up. I thank the lord that I was able to tell on my father, which was hard, before that happened. I believe this would have happened to everyone in my family if I would not have stopped it including my daughter. It happened to my older step-sisters and some friends. I stopped the rapes before it continued to my little sister or my daughter. Now I need my closure also. I do not care if he sees the prision walls until he is dead or is released tomorrow as long as I have my chance to be better first. Why do Mexicans believe immigration laws are not suppose to apply to them just because they have a family? GRANDVIEW, Wash. -- The need for immigration reform topped the list of concerns that Latino leaders brought Thursday to Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., who held an hour-long “listening” session at a senior center in the Lower Yakima Valley. “These laws are ripping families apart,” said Marisol Avila of Consejo Eastern Washington, a counseling and referral service. “We have families that can’t be families.” Avila and others said adult children are afraid to travel back to Mexico when a parent dies, out of fear they won’t get back into the United States. Spouses detained by immigration authorities because of their illegal status are having to leave their young children with older siblings or relatives. And laws governing the path to citizenship are so slow to churn that people have been waiting more than 20 years for their chance to become legal. Avila was one of 13 Latino community leaders, educators and business representatives invited to meet with Murray at the Grandview Senior Center. While there was no specific agenda, Murray acknowledged at the beginning the importance of Latinos as a constituency. “You are very important to me. This is a chance for you to make sure I know what’s on your minds,” she said. Several speakers, including Jesus Hernandez of Wenatchee and Ricardo Garcia, founder of Radio KDNA in Granger, urged Murray to work on passing the Dream Act, legislation that would allow undocumented young people to become eligible for citizenship in exchange for a mandatory two years in higher education or military service. “A top priority should be passage of the Dream Act. It’s a no-brainer,” said Hernandez, who is a member of the Wenatchee School Board. He said the United States needs to guarantee an educated, domestic workforce instead of relying on imported skilled workers. But the conversation kept returning to immigration as several speakers told stories of families separated and living in fear. “Whenever there is a raid, everything in life takes on underlying sense of fear. The fear is there and it never goes away,” said Carol Folsom-Hill, who runs La Casa Hogar, a nonprofit organization in Yakima that helps more than 400 immigrant women gain their footing in work and home life. Murray, who is expected to seek her fifth Senate term next year, said she heard the message. “It’s difficult, hard and a tough balance,” Murray said of passing immigration reform. “We’ve tried it twice in the Senate in the last three years but you’ve given me good reason to go back and say we have to try again.” Murray said Congress is focused on job creation and health care at the moment. She predicted that the Senate likely would be able to pass a bill before the end of the year but said Republicans are trying to block it with procedural tactics. “They are dragging things out incessantly,” she said. Tomas Ybarra, vice president of instruction and student services at Yakima Valley Community College, asked Murray to fight for more funding for community colleges, saying they are facing a convergence of increased demand and declining resources. “I am fearful this will result in a denial of opportunity for our students,” Ybarra said. While several speakers asked for help to combat gangs, Wapato Police Chief Richard Sanchez said the focus on gangs is misleading. “We have everyone scared that every Hispanic child in the community is a gang member. That’s the media. We’re making it too big a deal,” Sanchez said. Murray, who recently secured $500,000 for an anti-gang initiative in Yakima County, agreed that if all that adults talk about is gangs, kids will think that’s their only option in life. She encouraged all the Latino leaders to be role models. “You need to tell students you have a master’s degree, Marisol,” she said to Avila, who recounted recently helping a relative pick apples. Between the two of them, they earned $22 for one bin and it took two and a half hours. Health-care administrator Vickie Ybarra of the Yakima Farm Workers Clinic, who was in the audience, asked Murray to consider the state’s Basic Health Plan a model for offering health care insurance to the working poor. Hernandez of Wenatchee, who is executive director of Community Choice PHCO, a health-care network, said he is discouraged by Republican health-care proposals that would deny care of children of undocumented immigrants. http://www.tdn.com/articles/2009/11/13/breaking_news/doc4afd92e75c9dc737721221.txt
Are western women really Liberated?See for yourself............? Greetings to all of you who say that women in Islam are not liberated, why don't you take a look at the statistics of the women who you think are liberated.... The more I read this, I thank Allah for being a Muslim woman, Alhumde'lilah(Thanks to Allah for the most precious, gracious, &cherishable gift of Islam. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Findings by the U.S. Surgeon General C. Everette Koop revealed that domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between ages 15 to 44, more common than automobile accidents, muggings and rapes combined. Official estimates of domestic violence rely largely on FBI, police, and emergency room medical reports. Although many women also report domestic violence to friends, family, relatives, churches, synagogues, physicians, and nurses, these sources of information are not included in national crime surveys. In addition, most reports do not show the number of violent incidents experienced by individual battered women and their children. Hence, statistics do not accurately reflect the amount of violence experienced in intimate relationships and in the home. However, what the statistics do reveal about domestic violence is alarming. For example: * There are at least 4 million reported incidents of domestic violence against women every year. Almost 20 percent of these are aggravated assaults in the home. (Angela Brown, Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing, December 1990.) * In 1991, more then 90 women were murdered every week. Nine out of ten were murdered by men. (Senate Judiciary Committee Report, "Violence Against Women: A Week In the Life of America," October 1992.) * Weapons are used in 30 percent of domestic violence incidents. (P. Claus & M. Ranel, "Special Report: Family Violence," Bureau of Justice Statistics, undated) * 15 to 25 percent of pregnant women are battered. (Evan Stark & Anne Flitcraft, 1992.) * In 95 percent of all domestic violence assaults, crimes are committed by men against women. ("Report to the Nation on Crime and Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics," 1983.) * 22 to 35 percent of women who visit emergency rooms are there for injuries related to on-going abuse. (Journal of American Medical Association, 1990.) * Medical expenses from domestic violence total at least $3 to $5 billion annually. Businesses forfeit another $100 million in lost wages, sick leave, absenteeism and non-productivity. ("Domestic Violence For Health Care Providers," 3rd Edition, Colorado Domestic Violence Coalition, 1991.) * Abusive husbands and lovers harass 74 percent of employed battered women at work, either in person or over the telephone (Caroline Wolf Harlow, "Female Victims of Crime" Bureau of Justice Statistics, 1991), causing 20 percent to lose their jobs (Schecter & Gray, "A Framework for Understanding and Empowering Battered Women," 1998.) * As violence against women becomes more severe and more frequent in the home, children experience a 300 percent increase in physical violence by the male batterer. (M. Strauss and R. Gelles, "Physical Violence in American Families," 1990.) * Approximately 1 out of every 25 elderly persons are victimized annually (Candace Heisler, "Journal of Elder Abuse and Neglect" 1991). Of those who experience domestic elder abuse, 37 percent are neglected and 26 percent are physically abused. Of those who perpetrate domestic elder abuse, 30 percent are the adult children of an abused person. ( National Aging Resource Center on Elder Abuse, 1990.) * In 1991, only 17 states kept data on reported domestic violence offenses. These reports were limited to murder, rape, robbery, and serious bodily injury and no other form of domestic violence. (Senate Judiciary Committee Report, October 1992.) * Injuries that battered women receive are at least as serious as injuries suffered in 90 percent of violent felony crimes, yet under state laws, they are almost always classified as misdemeanors. (Joan Zorza, "The Gender Bias Committee's Domestic Violence Study," 1989.) * In nearly 31 of the states, under many circumstances, it is legal for a husband to rape his wife (National Clearinghouse on marital and Date Rape, 1993). In one study, 37 percent of the women who had been physically battered by their husbands were also raped by the husbands. (Diane E. Russell, "Rape in Marriage," Revised ED., 1990.) * Women are 10 times more likely then men to be victims of violent crime in intimate relationships. (U.S. Dept. of Justice, "Violence Against Women," January 1994.) * Until recently, few states collected enough information to indicate how many crimes reported to the police were committed against women and how many were committed against men. Crimes reported as aggravated assault by husband against wife were not distinguished from crimes reported as aggravated assault by an unknown assailant. (Domestic Crimes in the U.S. Survey, Senate Judiciary Committee, 1991.) * Although more than one million women seek medical treatment each year for injuries caused by their husbands, ex-husbands, or boyfriends, doctors correctly identify the injuries as resulting from battering only 4 percent of the time. (E. Stark & A. Flitcraft, "Medical Therapy as Repression: The Case of the Battered Woman," 1982.) abortion scenerio for a speech! please help=)? okay so i am doing a speech on abortion and i have to make my audience visualize themselves in a situation where they are "pregnant" & have to decide what to do.. i wanted to do something like: Maybe tell a parallel paths story that has a pregnant teen and a stable married couple longing, but unable to have a child of their own. The pregnancy may seem like a burden but think of the ultimate gift that will result in carrying the child to term. & in this story i wanna include how important it is that we know the consequences of having sex and that if your out having sex you should be able to take responsibility of raising that child..and how once that child becomes in your arms how mothers and fathers feel they never could have aborted it...um family and friends support is also helpful or pregnancy resource centers..& i also wanna talk about adoption as an alternative please please help with this!!! =)
All mothers out there What do you do to cut expenses with your child? I am a single mother of a toddler just curious as to know how other mothers make their dollars stretch. Some of the things I do to cut down expenses is I buy my son's diapers by the case-40bucks-Wholesale club, and it last a whole month. Wipes too. I also will suggest family members to buy him the clothes that he needs around christmas when they ask what to get him. I get his DVD movies at Walmart on the $5 shelf, or rent them from the library, kids movies are free. Toys I rent from Parents As Teachers resource center, he can keep the toys for 2 weeks, then trade them in for something else. He has toys at home, but most of them he doesn't even play with. I buy his clothes out of season, or receive hand-me-downs, and I do hit up the thrift store from time to time to get him some nice name brand stuff for under a $1. Food, we eat at home. I will spend money on a good pair of NIkes or jordan and a nice haircut, but everything else I try to budget. What do you do to cut on expenses? HOw do you economize with your kids? This is just a question how do other people make their money stretch, I spend time with my son, I'm talking about when it comes time to providing the basics, how do you economize? Serious inquiries only, I don't need a lecture, truly informational purposes only. I am very frugal on my ownself, I don't even include myself when it comes to anything. It's all about my son. Yes I go all out on birthdays too, but babies grow out of clothes so fast, and there are good slightly used name brand clothes at the thrift store. I go to school, work, and I wear a uniform to work. So I could care less about myself. Only people that understand the question should answer!!!! I am not cheap when it comes to my son. My son is at an age where he doesn't know the difference whether he got something new or used, all that matter is his mother's genuine love for him, and my struggle so that when it starts to count later on in life, I can afford those things. What's wrong with being frugal period? Materialism doesn't define whether your child will be happy or not. And I don't have internet, I use the library or a friends. I have a cell phone not a home phone-so I'm always on call in case of emergency. I have a converter box because I don't have cable and they have the QUBO cartoon channel on 24/7 so who needs cable? Get real!!!! And I don't have internet, I use the library or a friends. I have a cell phone not a home phone-so I'm always on call in case of emergency. please help with pregnancy story.? I am doing a speech on abortion and my teacher asked me to come up with a scenerio to put the audience in.. Earlier someone answered: You may be trying to decide whether you want a child. Too late! You already have a child! The only decision to be made now is whether to be a responsible parent and to protect your little son or daughter - or to hire someone to kill him/her. If you do the latter, you will have to live the rest of your life with the guilt of having made that selfish decision, becaused you know, down deep, and regardless of what they tell you at the abortuary, that (1) your baby is alive, and that (2) killing him/her is murder. I wanna say that if they decide to have the baby, they have pregnancy resource centers to help them and can also turn to family or friends for support...It's not going to be easy to have the baby since it's not planned ..also i wanna like add that since they think they are old enough and mature enough to have sex, then they are old enough to be responsible for raising a child... please help with this..
Where is the Best Kept Secret for Buying Real Estate in San Diego? CITY HEIGHTS, situated 10 minutes southeast from San Diego’s thriving downtown and new ballpark, is known for its extremely diverse immigrant population and many affordable properties. Some of the lowest priced properties that are in the county are in this zip code. City Heights (92105) has an up and coming atmosphere. The City Heights area has a community-oriented character with many upgrades happening before our eyes! 92105 is a mixed-use neighborhood with 4 new schools that have opened since 2006! A prime spot for first-time buyers and rental property investors makes City Heights very desirable at this time. City Heights (and the adjoining Azalea Park Community) has been progressively transitioning from a lower income community to a vibrant, trendy neighborhood filled with artists, working professionals, and young families. This ethnically and socially diverse community enjoys a variety of shops and neighborhood organizations and is very convenient to freeways and public transportation. The state-of-the-art community center and shopping district includes a new massive Albertsons Food Store Shopping Center, a drive-through Starbucks and many new restaurants. Adjacent to the new community center is a Public Park with a large community pool, entertainment stage and sports fields. House styles range from small craftsman and Spanish style to one to three bedroom homes and affordable condos. There are many 2-6 unit rentals properties and apartment buildings available. There is a dense population in City Heights that readily supports an investment property owner in their acquisition of tenants. Originally, this was the area that supported the new immigrants from Mexico, Vietnam then Ethiopia and Somalia. These rich cultures create a most colorful and interesting mix of beautiful people and fascinating traditions. Still, the influx of businesses and new construction to the neighborhood and the close proximity to the hip North Park and Hillcrest has helped to increase home values in the past decade. City Heights is only 1.5 miles from the campus of San Diego State University. There is no place to go but UP...with prices now from $160,000 for a small condo, up to $900,000 for a multi-unit investment property. please help with abortion speech!? so i'm writing an abortion paper and i had to think of a story about imagining being pregnant and deciding to either have an abortion or keep the child...it's a pro life essayy Let's just say you may be trying to decide where you want a child. Too late! You already have a child! The only decision to be made now is whether to be a responsible parent and protect your little son or daughter or to abort him/her. If you do the latter, you will have to live the rest of your life with the guilt of having made that decision, because you know, deep down and regardless of what they tell you at the abortion clinic, that your baby is alive, and that killing him/her is murder(i need a different word besides murder). If you were decide to do the carry the baby to term, it would be difficult to raise the child because it wasn't a planned pregnancy, but if you think you are old enough to have sex and know the consequences, then you should be responsible for raising the child..When a person chooses to have sex she is taking a chance. This she does of her own free will, and she has control over what she is doing. If a person decides to have sex whether it is safe or not, what happens after that is her responsibility as well as his. And if you are going to chose to participate in this risky and unsafe practice then you must be ready to pay the consequences. Family and friends may be there for support and if they arent available, pregnancy resource centers are. These centers are ready to help you free of charge and all centers give pregnancy testing and counceling. Some centers can help find financial assistance and also help find a place to live while being pregnant and will discuss other alternatives. There are many couples that are unable to conceive a child and want to adopt one. The women that cannot care for the baby should give their child up for adoption to families who are willing to take care of the baby. i need like an action step like:"i would hope you would do the right thing and also encourage others who are thinking about having an abortion to seek help" or something like that.. or a good conclusion would really help! i know a lot of you are probably going to disagree with this, but please don't leave any mean remarks..its for a paper and i am stressed as it is so just try and help me with it if possible..i would greatly appreciate it
Is this a case of discrimination against U.S. citizens? Why do illegals get in-state tuition ? The superintendent in a large southern California public school district is spending tax dollars on an outreach campaign to let illegal immigrants know they qualify for discounted in-state tuition at all the state’s public colleges. San Bernardino County Superintendent Herbert Fischer, an elected official that serves four-year terms, believes many illegal immigrants don’t take advantage of this taxpayer-financed perk because they don’t know about it. To change that, his office created an informative pamphlet to distribute to schools throughout the dozens of districts that he oversees. With an annual operating budget of $350 million, the San Bernardino County superintendent oversees nearly 2,000 employees and 33 local school districts. He also serves as an intermediate agency between the state’s department of education and all the county’s school districts and his office operates one of the two federally funded parent resource centers in California. It seems outrageous that this public official, elected to serve American students, instead uses public funds to encourage illegal immigrants to benefit from a costly perk that should be reserved for legal residents and citizens. The superintendent’s office calls it an outreach to parents and families that fits into the county’s goal of promoting education beyond high school.http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2008/jul/public-official-promotes-illegal-immigrant-perks Think about that for a moment. If an out-of-state or legal out-of-country "foreign" student is not eligible for the reduced tuition, then why is Calif extending this benefit to the college age children of illegal aliens aka undocumented immigrants? Doesn't this also discriminates against other U.S. citizens, legal immigrants and lawfully admitted foreign students and allows illegal aliens to occupy college openings while legal American students languish on wait lists? Lastly, want it increase costs of public higher education?
Just remembered blocked out childhood abuse from non-family member, how do I cope? When I was about 5 years old my (single)mother sent one of my sisters and me to the cheapest day care she could find. The lady abused us. I have a poor memory, especially when it comes to my childhood which (as of about 3 hours ago) makes sense now, but it is also genetic. I do remember two distinct occasions, but know there were more. I think my mother knew about it. I sent her a text and asked her. She hasn't responded which is unlike her. I stopped going to my current therapist because of finances. It was from a community center that offered a sliding scale, and while I make decent money, my debt to income ratio is not so good...at all...and they don't look at that. I'm left wondering if my compulsiveness, obsessiveness, indecisiveness, irrational fears, and settling for things less than what I want are byproducts of the abuse. I also am left wondering how to cope, how to deal with and forgive my mother, and what good resources are for abuse that is not domestic. Thoughts?
How do I explain an Involuntary Termination without having to explain what happened? I am having a hard time explaining an Involuntary Termnination that I know was done out of revenge. To Authenticate who I am; Max R Waller 11261 Sproule Ave Pacoima CA 91331 Telephone:1-818-890-2048 Please be patient when reading and respond by writing to united_states_constitution@yahoo.com Wrongful Termination at Sam's Club 6625 at San Fernando California 91340 Gabriel H Peregrino is the Tire and Battery Associate that lied on Saturday, 21 April 2007. He wrote a lie stating that I was aggressive, but he only exaggerates and is vindictive. He is a slacker and Ambrosio Galvan and Bill Lang know this but will not admit since they can be fired for any reason since people in California can be terminated At Will. The following implicates Club Manager Fidel Jacobo Saturday, 21 April 2007 16:27 PDST To Sam's Club Asset Protection and management From Waller, Max Rafael Incidence TBC Assoc Gabriel (Assoc ID 2216) did not want to raise the vehicle for mounting and the easier task, the tire of the vehicle. About two week ago he and I had a great half hour talk about animation or know as cartoons. I thought we were having some kind of association but I am wrong. This took place around 13:07 PDST so please review the surveillance tape. You will also see the pranks others have played on me. Review all from two weeks back. Gabriel and I pushed each other. Ambrosio Galvan and Bill Lang know his work habits. Thank you for opening this investigation. I am aware of what constitutes a Hostile Work Place Environment. You, Fidel Jacobo, have been told of TBC Associates works habits. You have not addressed this in any document meeting. Show the surveillance video as proof. The video would exonerate me of their false charges. I believe that I was terminated since California is a At-Will Employment state William Gregory Lang or Bill Lang transferred to a Sam's Club near Palmer Lake in Colorado in early June 2007. Mr. Lang used to be trusted by me who made the mistake of telling him everything before the Termination on Monday, 23 April 2007. Bill Lang knows the dirt of Sam's Club 6625 and had told some people in the Club that almost everyone hates Fidel Jacobo and that is why a lot of people quit Sam's Club 6625. Team Lead Ambrosio Galvan also knows a lot of dirty secrets at Sam's Club 6625, but is nervous about losing his job if he sides with me Sam's Club PD-57 Investigation/Suspension was NOT adhering to by Club Manager Fidel Jacobo and Membership Manager Esperanza Lopez. Read the complete policy, PD-57, at the end. No documentation of any complaints and the San Fernando Police Department or the Los Angeles Police Department ever showed for a "Work Place Violence." Please show proof since one complaint and one video tape does NOT establish Workplace Violence. SHOW THE SURVEILLANCE VIDEO!!! Neither Mr. Jacobo nor Ms Lopez wanted to sign the papers of any meeting between two managers and me for Legal Documentation. No meetings to address any potential problems at the Tire and Battery Center were brought up by the Team Lead or Management. As of Monday, 9 April 2007, the people of the Tire Shop are playing pranks and making it appear as if I was becoming forgetful such as the misplacement of tools and personal safety gear. The suspects are Erick Miron and Mark Castro. Esperanza Lopez was told and never had a meeting to discuss the topics brought to her attention by me. Esperanza Lopez was asked to verify this by reviewing the Surveillance video tapes and my request was not honored. Esperanza Lopez was told about the pranks about two weeks ago but no meeting to diffuse or address serious matters was conducted. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc does not always follow their guidelines and fire anyone that does not allow their selves to be intimidated!!! In the early 1990s Esperanza Lopez used to be a cashier at Tres Sierras Store #1 in Pacoima CA 91331 but when she became a manager she was as a friendly to old friends of the Delgado Family. Esperanza's nickname was "Pera." Esperanza Lopez is a decent manager BUT only honors the request (s) of those that will help her career or that she likes. If I can get a good attorney I might be able to file the following complaints. Discriminations types; Disparate Treatment and Disparate Impact The Waller Family will pray for everyone that is against me Erick Miron always complained about classical music and started a rumor and told Marco Arins that he and I had a physical fight. I, Max Rafael Waller, formerly Assoc ID 0035 and Operator 007 proudly served from Tuesday, 13 November 1990 - Monday, 23 April 2007 and only needed about nine years to do a minimal of twenty-five years to retire from Wal Mart Stores, Inc. I was one hundred percent vested in Profit Sharing and had a one month vacation allocated per year. I am a share holder Wal Mart Stores, Inc stock and I have about 11 shares so he has vested interest at the time of termination. Max Rafael Waller studied all of Wal-Mart policies and found that if that his remark {INTIMIDATION} could be verified then he would get a coaching for making such a remark. The others are scared to tell the truth. According to Art who works for the California EDD at http://www.edd.ca.gov/ my ex boss told him that I was fired for 1) Work Place Violence and 2) Verbal Altercation. Fidel Jacobo was doing his best so that I would not receive unemployment. I am receiving unemployment since there was no meeting to talk about Work Place Violence. People that are fired/terminated due to violence will NOT receive Unemployment Compensation which is commonly known as Unemployment Pay. On Saturday, 12 May 2007 a relative of mine two Sam's Club 6625 associates possibly a Check Out Supervisor Jay and a female spreading misinformation at Wireless Communication #1, 11916 Foothill Blvd, Lake View Terrace CA 91342; Telephone:1-818-897-1477 and Fax:1-818-897-1467 If Wal-Mart / Sam's Club 6625 could negate what I have written, then I would be in legal trouble. A lot of information came from Bill Lang who is an insider. Hourly Associates will not be eligible to use benefit hours (illness protection, or personal time) to compensate for lost wages. Salaried will be paid only through the end of the week in which they will be suspended. If there has been a violation of company policy, the Associate under investigation may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. The investigation materials must still be maintained regardless of the outcome of the investigation. If the investigation is the result of an Open Door, it is the salaried member of management's responsibility to follow up with the reporting Associate. Of most concern would be friends and family of those with a health problem such as bipolarism, cancer, autism, etc. We provide counseling when we can, assistance with help when needed, and financial assistance when we can. The financial assistance is not for the medical bills. It is for helping to provide food, clothing, short term assistance with bills coupled with counseling and help on helping yourself out of a financial predicament, etc. If a family's money goes to the hospitals and treatment centers, then they often times find themselves having difficulties with food bills, water and electric bills, etc. We try to help in these situations. Maybe a family needs help finding daycare so they are able to assist their spouse in the hospital. This is not a non-profit 501(c)3 organization at the moment. Our resources have not reached that point yet. What we’re looking for is a name for this charity. Please list any names you can think of and any thoughts you might like to offer regarding the organization. Please do not offer any negative advice or comments as is most often seen at Yahoo answers. Please only give responses to the questions and information I have asked for. Thank you and God bless.
Name ONE positive thing about granting amnesty to illegals in the US.? (And don't say the price of tomatoes is cheaper because that's a misnomer--cheap illegal labor increases Agriculture profits, it doesn't decrease the price of our tomatoes). They cost us about $25k in taxpayer money per year per family in social services used, crowd our freeways, trash our communities, make our schools ESL-teaching centers, cause our emergency rooms to close, use a hugely disproportionate amount of public aid, stress our natural resources and physical infrastructures, contribute massively to crime and prison overcrowding, and for the most part refuse to assimilate while remaining loyal to their home countries to the tune of grossly disrespecting the U.S. whilesending all their earnings home. Many come here with the sole intention of having anchor babies and leeching off of taxpayer services. What the H*L* are we allowing our Senators and "represenatatives" to get away with in supporting the current amnesty bills they want to cram through again? WAKE UP AMERICANS!
Is it immoral to do nothing? I believe overpopulation is a pandemic.? I have seen families in trailors with like 12 children all from different unfit young mothers who do drugs and drain society's resources. I am from a "red state" and this problem is more prevalent in the south. It is very common for a 25 year old, unwed mother, having 4 kids, all living with their grandmother, who also takes care of more kids who aren't her own. Has anyone else seen this? I am in juvenile rehabilition, and I see a lot of this in my outpatient counseling. Do these horrible breeding centers disgust anyone else? DOES ANYONE EVEN KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT--HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ONE OF THESE FAMILIES I SPOKE OF, AND ARE YOU FAMALIAR WITH THE PROBLEMS THEY PRODUCE?
As a single mother to a newborn, how were you able to support yourself & your child? I'm 3 months pregnant and I'm going to be a single mother. Ex isn't it the picture (with another woman). I have a great job which allows maternity leave, but I'm worried about so many things: -how to find the right baby sitter -is a care center better for a baby? -how to find emotional support for myself, because I don't have a big family/ circle of friends -how to find a positive male figure for my baby-- i know it's early, but the sooner i think about it, the better i'm just really cautious about it. i'm so happy about having this baby, i just want to provide him with all the love/resources possible to make him a healthy person
Some of you wanted to know how illegals affect us? personally???? Here is ONE example!!!!!!!!!!!!! Catastrophe in Care Hospitals are being crippled by the costs of treating migrants--and that could be just the start of an immigrant-related health crisis By LEO W. BANKS Leo W. Banks One of the many signs on the Naco Highway. Leo W. Banks "It's not unusual to have one UDA (undocumented alien) cost $5,000, and we know we're not going to get that back," says Josie Mincher, emergency room manager at Copper Queen Hospital. Leo W. Banks "Until we have comprehensive immigration reform, we need to bear the health-care costs for undocumented workers, whatever those costs are," says Rev. Tom Buechele. If you drive along Southern Arizona's border with Mexico long enough, you might see a lone illegal wandering the desert. Or maybe he's hunched at the roadside sipping water from his milk jug. What's he doing there, and where are his compatriots, the people he broke into the country with? The uninformed might ask those questions, but those who live with the daily invasion across our open borders can make a pretty good guess what's happening. The fellow got bounced from his group by the coyote-guide. Two transgressions will get an illegal cut loose with certainty: Either he can't pay, or he shows signs of tuberculosis. You think these coyotes are fools? They don't want some hollow-eyed lunger hacking and coughing blood on them. So it's adios, pal, and now you're America's problem. But they know that already. Every illegal realizes that if he makes it to an emergency room in Southern Arizona, or anywhere around the country for that matter, he can get treatment, free of charge. It's federal law, and has been for 20 years. In its evolution, the policy has become a kind of federal health insurance program for illegals, and its rising costs are eating up resources that could otherwise go to poor and uninsured American citizens. It has created a financial nightmare for border hospitals and contributed to cutbacks in services at Tucson hospitals. Is this an outrage? A scandal? Some think it's both. But going back to our active TB sufferer, here's something even worse: The guy can't get treatment anywhere, goes underground and takes a job at a restaurant in Tucson or L.A., and coughs his way to infecting scores of others. Talk about a Hobson's choice. But as with everything in the ongoing crisis of illegal immigration, the hard choices would largely evaporate if the federal government fulfilled its constitutional duty and took control of our border. The threat illegal immigration poses to American public health plays out every day at Arizona's hospitals. Until recently, the issue remained only marginally public, a problem medical people batted around among themselves, not with the media. Even today, several hospitals contacted for this story declined comment. The Copper Queen Hospital in Bisbee, one of the hardest hit, helped break that barrier when CEO Jim Dickson began returning reporters' calls, even though the subject, as he puts it, has become "like the third rail. You don't want to touch it." But his problem had grown severe. Dickson's uncompensated costs for treating illegals rose from $35,000 in 1999 to $450,000 in 2004. His total shortfall now sits at about $1.4 million, a hefty deficit for a 14-bed hospital. To make ends meet, he had to close, in June 2000, the Copper Queen's long-term care facility, and cut back on staff and hours, forcing some employees to take second jobs to survive. The hospital has seen a ray of light, however. In the first months of 2005, the Copper Queen has gone back into surplus, in part because more illegals are in Border Patrol custody when brought in to the hospital. That means the Border Patrol must reimburse the Queen for the cost. In the past, agents would drop injured illegals not in their custody at the ER and take off, sticking the hospital with bills that never got paid. Another reason for the decrease, says Dickson: the Minuteman Project. "It's been terrific for us in April," he says, cutting down on the number of people coming across and therefore the number requiring ER treatment. Dickson says the hospital wrote off about $6,000 in losses in April this year, compared to about $35,000 in April 2004. The central issue, though, remains in place--the hospital has had to scale back health services to American citizens to treat illegals. Bisbee isn't alone. The most comprehensive study on the subject found that 24 counties in four states bordering Mexico wracked up $190 million in unpaid emergency medical bills caring for illegals in the year 2000. The study, commissioned by the U.S.-Mexico Border Counties Coalition, found that California spent $79 million of that; Texas, $74 million; Arizona, $31 million; and New Mexico, $6 million. Bear in mind that these numbers, the best available, are from 2000. We can assume, with increasing rates of crossings since then, the costs are considerably higher today. Nor do the above figures take into account non-border counties. Treating illegals in Maricopa County costs as much as $50 million a year, according to an estimate used by Republican Sen. Jon Kyl. Nationally, American hospitals lose $1.45 billion a year. The Medicare reform bill passed in 2003 allocated $1 billion to reimburse states for federally mandated ER care given to illegals--about $45 million a year of that to come to Arizona over four years. But even that, some hospital staffers say, is little more than a Band-Aid on a huge problem. Ruth Kish, director of patient care services at Copper Queen, expects that under the repayment formula, her hospital will receive only 10 cents of every dollar they spend on illegals. "But every bit helps," says Kish. Another factor: The counties in the above-mentioned study spent an additional $13 million in 2000 on emergency transportation, such as helicopters and ambulances, to pick up illegals injured after sneaking across the line. The Bisbee Fire Department's ambulance responds to about one of these calls a day during the summer, says Chief Jack Earnest. Asked how many of these patients pay up, Earnest wasn't sure, and recommended contacting the billing office in Sierra Vista. The billing office knew exactly how often illegals pay their ambulance bills--never. But there's another category--Mexicans injured in Mexico who call American ambulances for help. By federal law, they have to respond, which makes Bisbee's Copper Queen the trauma center of choice for Sonora's northern frontier. The calls come from Naco, Sonora, the town across the line just south of Bisbee, where, in spite of widespread poverty, cell phones are popular, and everybody knows the Americans are bound by law to treat them. "When we get a call we go, and we don't ask where the person's from," says Earnest. Naco residents needing care go to the port of entry and declare an emergency to American officials. When they're waved through, they're transported to the Copper Queen's ER in Bisbee's ambulance, or they drive themselves in private cars. The policy is called Compassionate Entry, and it applies to hospitals up and down the line. The Copper Queen averages about five such cases a month. Some abuse the privilege, says ER Manager Josie Mincher. She's seen Compassionate Entries with bad sore throats and others who aren't sick at all. One pregnant girl landed in the ER recently complaining of morning sickness. Most are seriously sick, though, and the staff rushes to help, "because that's what we do," says Mincher. But it doesn't take much to blow the budget. "Just walking in the door is $400," says Mincher. "It's not unusual to have one UDA (undocumented alien) cost $5,000, and we know we're not going to get that back. We're playing with monopoly money here." Here's an example of how one patient can wrack up a huge bill: A young Mexican man had a bad auto accident across the line and was taken to Douglas' Southeast Arizona Medical Center with severe neurological problems. After being stabilized there, he was transferred to Barrow's Neurological Center in Phoenix. He spent a costly month there, courtesy of the Center, and was transferred--with a tracheotomy tube in his throat and supplies to clean it, also provided gratis by Barrow's--to a hospital in Hermosillo. That facility kept him less than a day before releasing him to his home in Naco. But for reasons no one can explain, the Hermosillo hospital kept his trach kit and cleaning supplies. As a result, he became septic--a bad infection--and came through the Naco port under Compassionate Entry to the Copper Queen. He spent three days there, then the staff sent him off, with more free supplies, to a clinic in Agua Prieta for continued care. How much did this fellow cost the American health care system? A figure of a quarter-million dollars would surprise no one. Cost to the Copper Queen? Almost $6,000, and they got none of it back. Northern Cochise Community Hospital is in Willcox, far enough from the border that it doesn't get patients crossing the line for health care. But that doesn't mean it escapes the invasion. CEO Chris Cronberg loses about $100,000 a year caring for illegals, mostly those injured in traffic accidents when their loaded vehicle flips while speeding north. "It's not make or break for us," says Cronberg. "But as a small hospital, we depend on cash, and those are dollars that aren't coming in, so it has an impact." The same is true at Sierra Vista Regional Health Center, according to Vice President Marie Wurth. She expects the hospital to lose $250,000 this year treating those who jump the line, get hurt doing it and don't pay their bills. The big squeeze is on in Tucson, too. Tucson Medical Center loses an estimated $4 million every year treating illegals. The corresponding figure at UMC, which includes some foreign nationals, was $3.5 million for fiscal 2004, a $2 million increase from the previous year. Part of that is attributable to UMC, in July 2003, becoming Tucson's only Level One trauma center, meaning it saw the most serious cases. Chief Financial Officer Kevin Burns says the hospital's re-payment rate for treating illegals is about 5 cents on the dollar. "It's very expensive for us and continues to grow," says Burns, who says many illegals, as well as uninsured Americans, use his ER like a primary care physician. "We hear anecdotally that people come here from across the border because they know they can get cared for, and if they present at the ER, they can get that care at no cost." The federal law that put the hospitals on the hook for the medical bills of illegals goes by the acronym EMTALA--Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act. It says that anybody who shows up in an ER must get screened, treated and stabilized, regardless of citizenship or ability to pay. But since its passage in 1985, the definition of emergency has evolved to include just about anything, and because Congress didn't fund the requirement, hospitals have had to eat the costs as word has spread that the federal goodie wagon is parked at the ER door. In cities with huge illegal populations, such as Los Angeles, the effects have been disastrous. In its spring 2005 issue, the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons reported that between 1993 and 2003, 60 California hospitals closed because, for several reasons including EMTALA, half of their services became unpaid. Another 24 are near closing, says author Madeleine Pelner Cosman. She also writes that in 1983, before EMTALA, L.A. County put together a trauma network that was "one of America's finest emergency med response organizations." A mere 22 years later--again, in part because of EMTALA--Cosman says the system is coming apart, with most trauma hospitals having left the network, along with physicians, surgeons and others. The law has caused a similar situation in Tucson, on a smaller scale. "With EMTALA, the government created an unfunded national health insurance program, and it has caused real problems in this community," says Dr. Herb McReynolds, who works for a company that manages the ER department for St. Mary's Hospital, which treats a large number of illegals. Lawmakers wrote the legislation to prevent patient dumping--in which one hospital refuses to accept, say, an uninsured woman in labor, telling ambulance personnel to take her to the county hospital instead. It stopped that practice. But it has caused a big increase in the amount of un-reimbursed care that hospitals provide, and in McReynolds' words, "made physicians rethink their careers and lifestyles." "The price of it has come over time, because after so much uncompensated care, it forces physicians off our call list," says McReynolds. "Physicians have a practice to go to the next day and a family, and ask themselves, do I really want to be up at 2 a.m. providing care when I won't get comp, and I can still get sued?" Some docs have removed themselves from on-call lists by going to work at outpatient surgical centers not affiliated with a hospital. Others stay on call, but limit the amount of time they're available. A neurosurgeon might take call one day a week, and that satisfies the law. EMTALA says that you must provide a reasonable amount of coverage, without being strict or specific about how much that is. McReynolds says that EMTALA--in tandem with the malpractice crisis--has caused the loss of medical coverage at many hospitals around the country and in Tucson, including St. Mary's. "Several years ago we had five neurosurgeons on staff here, and now we have two," he says. "We had hand surgery coverage every day, and now we have it one week a month. We used to have full ob-gyn coverage, and now they've left and gone to TMC. We have no ob-gyn and one gynecologist on staff covering emergencies one day a week." With docs all over Tucson running for cover, trying to stay off call and away from ERs, the variety of emergency health care available to Tucsonans has seriously diminished. And here's the most maddening irony of all: The feds now reimburse American hospitals for treating non-paying illegals, but not for treating American citizens. Exception: Those eligible for care under Federal Emergency Services, a fairly restrictive program. For a year and a half now, UMC has approached non-paying illegals in a novel way--it actually reports them to immigration officials. "Some people find that cold, but we have a responsibility to protect this charitable asset (hospital)," says CFO Burns, adding that UMC's status as a public entity requires a different approach. "Our belief is that to the extent people have ability to pay, we expect them to." After triaging and stabilizing an ER patient, the hospital sets out to learn who that patient is, and how he or she plans to pay. To those who are uninsured and underinsured, the hospital offers the option of applying for its innovative Charity Care program. Under it, the hospital charges the patient the same rate it would receive for that service from Medicare, a possible reduction of up to 70 percent. Patients unable to pay at that discounted rate are eligible for further discounts that can tear up the bill entirely. To apply for Charity Care, the patient need only return to the hospital with a W-2 or other documents. Those who cooperate and return with the required documents don't get reported to the feds. But the hospital does report those who take the medical care and run. How many illegals cooperate with this generous offer? Ten percent. Burns says UMC began reporting the 90 percent who don't pay in November of 2003. So far, they've reported 565 persons. Why start reporting? "Maybe a bit of it was born of frustration because people use our resources and make no effort to work with us and pay," he says. "Even if part of the population doesn't pay, I still have to hire new people and buy and upgrade equipment, which costs $15-$20 million a year. When you have these strains on resources, from foreign citizens and as well as Medicaid patients, you have to manage cash flow very carefully." As with most issues related to the illegal invasion, those who live along the Mexican border, the scene of the crime, have the best view. Where health issues are concerned, it's not a pretty sight. Residents say they've come across ground dotted with discarded pills, syringes containing nobody knows what, and used needles. Some report riding horses along creek beds, popular pull-up areas for groups heading north, and finding 70 or 80 piles of human feces, some of it blackened and running with blood. It's as disgraceful as it is disgusting--and it raises a question: What happens when rain washes all this into the water supply? Is it a threat to spread diseases such as hepatitis? Some believe it might be. What happens when cows drink from these contaminated creeks? And what happens when this constant flow of Third World humanity goes north, fanning out all across Arizona and the country? What kind of diseases do they bring with them? ER workers like Mincher live with that question every day. "We protect ourselves best we can," she says, "but if somebody comes in with a contagious disease, I might as well buy the farm, because I don't know what it is. A lot of times, they don't know what they have either. If they came off a ranch in southern Mexico, they've had no immunizations, no health care, nothing." Most of what she sees at Copper Queen--around 75 percent--is orthopedic, falls suffered while jumping fences, for instance. Dehydration, too. Some of these are pregnant women nine months along, who, in Mincher's words, "are so desperate to have their babies born in the U.S., they'll do whatever it takes." She sees cardiac-related cases among illegals who've been given crack, methamphetamine or speed by their coyote so they can keep walking. But she's also treated illegals with active chicken pox, tuberculosis, all varieties of hepatitis and AIDS. The Web and print media are full of stories about the diseases illegals carry, and their effect on American health. But some writers make alarming claims with sketchy evidence at best. In the cases of two diseases, however--Chagas and tuberculosis--the evidence is clearer that they're indeed coming across our border. Chagas, a potentially fatal illness spread by contact with the feces of the reduviid bug, called the "kissing bug," is prevalent in South and Central America. Fifteen million people in that region are infected with the parasite, and 50,000 die of it every year, according to the World Health Organization. A person can be infected for 10 or 20 years or more before showing symptoms, making it particularly insidious. At its most severe, the disease can cause the heart to fail, and literally explode. In the United States? Louis Kirchhoff, of the University of Iowa Medical School, estimates that between 80,000 and 120,000 Latin Americans with Chagas live here. Matching prevalence studies and immigration numbers, Kirchhoff figures about 10 Chagas-infected persons entered every day from Mexico alone in the 1990s. The disease can be transmitted four ways, but for Americans, the most worrisome is the blood supply. In the United States overall, the chance of contracting Chagas from a blood transfusion is small, one in 25,000, according to David Leiby, a research scientist at the American Red Cross in Washington. But in cities with high populations from Latin America, the numbers fall to much riskier levels. In Miami, for example, the chance is one on 9,000. In L.A., 1 in 5,400. Researchers have confirmed seven cases of people contracting Chagas through blood transfusions--five in the U.S., two in Canada--and they say the number of unknown cases is probably much higher. "A rate of one in 5,400 is something we're concerned about," says Leiby, adding that the FDA is still a few years away from a useable blood-screening test. "Chagas is overlooked by the health care system in the United States. Our physicians aren't aware of it and wouldn't recognize it in most cases." Tuberculosis, which also shows up in high rates in Mexico, is migrating north as well. Many assume a place like Cochise County, right on the border and overrun by illegals, would have a high incidence of TB. But it doesn't, says Edith Sampson, of the Cochise County Health Department. "The immigrants only pass through here on the way to Atlanta, or whatever city they're going to," she says. Exactly the problem--which is a big reason why 53 percent of the TB in the United States in 2003 was among foreign-born persons, up from 29 percent in 1993, according to the Centers for Disease Control. In L.A., again because of its huge illegal population, the figure is closer to 80 percent. Only 15,000 Americans suffer from active TB, the only dangerous kind because it can be passed to someone else, usually by coughing and expelling the bacteria from the throat or lungs. That's a small number, but the New York Academy of Sciences estimates that each victim will "infect 10 or 20 or more people--in whom the disease will likely remain latent, creating the potential time-bomb effect." The State Health Department says that Arizona had 295 reported cases of active TB in 2003, a jump from the previous year. Why the increase? More of the disease was found among kids under 5 years old and prisoners. The latter were mostly Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees--in other words, illegals. Sixty-eight percent of Arizona's foreign-born TB cases are from Mexico, says state health. Will TB return to the United States in a big way? It hasn't yet, says Lee Reichman, executive director of the New Jersey Medical School's National Tuberculosis Center. But he adds that with globalization--the ability to get around the world in 20 hours--and because "we can't stop people from getting in to this country, no matter how hard we try," the potential exists for a new epidemic. His particular concern is with multi-drug-resistant TB, fatal in 60 percent of cases. This strain requires a long regimen of costly drugs that illegals are unlikely to take, or have access to. Arizona has a small number of MDR-TB cases, and all of them in the past five years have been among foreign-born persons. "The reason you haven't heard about TB here is that good public health is working," says Reichman. "People who are symptomatic go to physicians, and the physicians don't ask questions. As soon as you have to ID yourself, or say we're going to send you back to Mexico, these people go into hiding and spread more TB. Any physician who cares about being a physician isn't going to ask those questions, because he took an oath to treat sick people." The Copper Queen's Rush Kish says that under Medicare reimbursement guides, her hospital cannot ask patients if they are in the country illegally. But how do you bill the feds to get money back for treating illegals if you can't ask if someone is illegal? Well, you play a little Orwellian word game, probing around the issue with a list of government-approved questions, then make educated assumptions. But the illegal holds the trump card, because he can refuse to answer every question. "We don't know yet what evidence Medicare will accept when we apply for reimbursement," says Kish. "But at least we can begin documenting the enormity of this problem." The question isn't whether those with genuine emergencies should get treatment. Of course they should. In Naco, residents have no access to ER care and many would die if they didn't get to the Copper Queen. The real question is: Who pays? Rev. Tom Buechele, pastor at St. John's Episcopal Church in Bisbee, thinks it's appropriate for the federal government to keep ponying up, as long as American companies "maintain their illegal trafficking in human labor." "Until we have comprehensive immigration reform, we need to bear the health-care costs for undocumented workers, whatever those costs are," says Buechele, who, for almost a year now, has been running a free monthly clinic in Naco, Arizona, catering to the poor and uninsured on both sides of the line. Although they talk a different language, politicians, even Republicans, promote policies that further Buechele's liberal vision. They boast to constituents that they've saved border hospitals by pushing through the Medicare reimbursement plan, which provides a relatively small amount of money over four years. But that's another Hobson's choice, which is to say no choice at all. What do you do, let hospitals go under? Kyl, who pushed to get the reimbursement money, says an emphatic no. "If we want those ERs to be there for us, then we'd better keep them in business," says the Arizona senator. "If our hospitals are required by federal law to treat anybody who comes into the ER, and the federal government has failed to control the border, then it's appropriate for the government to reimburse these hospitals." But some argue that the system as it stands now, with EMTALA firmly in place, is rigged to produce two results: The federal treasury will remain wide open to illegals, and that all but guarantees that more and more of them will bust the line to get here. After all, this is the end of the rainbow for them, where jobs await, education is free, health care is free. Who wouldn't come? And the more they come, the more American health suffers--from such diseases as Chagas and TB, further cutbacks in hospital services to American citizens, and even possible closures. Where's the compassion in that? Copper Queen ER nurse Josie Mincher, herself Hispanic, puts her health, and possibly her life, on the line to treat illegals. Listen to the emotion in her voice as she describes what that's like: "I go to work every day feeling like I'm on a torture wrack. My heartstrings get pulled in one direction by these sick people I want to help. Because I'm Hispanic, I know how they live. And I'm pulled in the other direction, too, thinking that if our hospitals aren't around, where do I take my own kids? "But we have to treat them because of EMTALA. It says that anybody who comes within 250 yards of an ER gets treatment. What would happen to Safeway if the law said anyone who comes within 250 yards of the store gets free food? They'd go out of business. Well, we're a business, too." Mincher's solution? "Send the bills to Mexico. If it affected them financially, they might do something about all these people coming across. My grandparents came here legally, and it took a long time and a lot of money. They respected the law. These people just walk across now. They weren't brought up the same way." Burns at UMC says he wants the U.S. and Mexican governments to work together to find a solution. But, as Kyl cautions, don't expect any breakthrough soon. Mexico benefits far too much from our illegal immigration nightmare--in jobs for its citizens and cash sent home--to step up with money to care for its own people. Until the border brought under control and the invasion stopped, we'll continue to pay the bills of people who illegally tiptoed across the line in the dead of night. This is an article from the Arizona Repuiblic newspaper, NOT something i "made up"!!!! If you don't believe me, LOOK IT UP FOR YOURSELF!!! It's on-line, if you look under Copper Queen hospital!!! And for those of you that can not take the time to READ this article, i can SEE why you are so UNINFORMED on this issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
What do u think of these 911 conspiracy theories & debunks? The main conspiracy points put forward are outlined below. (These points are in no particular order) Conspiracy 1) The George W Bush administration conspired to either organize the attacks or, at the very least, allowed them to take place. The evidence for this, conspirators argue, comes in the form of a policy document - Rebuilding America's Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century (pdf, size: 852KB) (external link to newamericancentury.org) - which was written a year before 9/11. The report was authored by leading members of the Bush administration under the name of The Project for the New American Century (Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush were contributors to this report, according to UK Channel 4 documentary 'The 9/11 Conspiracies', broadcast 9/9/2004). The report says that it would only be possible to fully secure America's defenses in the world if there was a 'catastrophic' or 'catalyzing event', 'such as a Pearl Harbor'. Michael Moore's movie Fahrenheit 911 argues that the Bush presidency used 911 to radically increase powers at home and to increase a climate of fear, so that it could wage wars which will increase America's influence in other areas - American business has much to gain from the reconstruction and oil in Iraq. In a meeting after 11th September, Bush was keen to find a connection with Iraq so that it could be attacked. Counter: There is a report, and it does say these things (page 63), but does it mean that these people therefore engineered 9/11? This is seen as a smoking gun by many conspirators, and even for skeptics this is quite a strange report. The counter must be that the George W Bush administration would be absolute monsters to do it. After 9/11 they pretty much did react in the way set out in the report, which could be seen as an understandable reaction if they felt the country was under attack. Iraq never had anything to do with 9/11. Conspiracy 2) President George W Bush, or those in his Administration, stood down air defenses on September 11, 2001. According to the conspiracy argument, in the year before 9/11, commercial airlines went off-course 57 times and in each case they were given an airforce escort. Where were the airforce on 9/11? If there was such an order it would have had to come from at least Vice President level. Counter: The 9/11 Commission looked into this and did not find evidence of a stand down order. Embarrassingly for the USA, however, this investigation revealed that the USA was particularly vulnerable on 9/11 to this type of attack. As part of the peace dividend, following the collapse of the Berlin Wall and Communism, savings were made to the airforce cover provided inside the USA. The emphasis was more on preventing an attack from abroad, not from inside the US itself. So, airforce cover had been shut down as a long term policy, rather than told to stand down specifically for these attacks. (Where does the assertion that, 57 times before 9/11, the airforce did provide cover come from?) Conspiracy 3) The Pentagon attack. The Pentagon was not even hit by flight 77, but was hit by a missile under US orders. The impact crater in the Pentagon was only 18 feet wide, but it had just been hit by a Boeing 757 which has a wing span of 125 feet and a tail 40ft high! There was also little wreckage. The US (or Soviets, or UFO) must have bombed it with a missile, surely? Counter: Many credible eyewitnesses saw a Boeing 757 hit the Pentagon. Security camera footage (from which the still, above, is taken), which was used by those putting forward this conspiracy argument, missed flight 77 actually hitting the Pentagon, it just sees the explosion (it also doesn't show a missile hitting the Pentagon either by the way). The plane hit the building at some 500 miles an hour, the subsequent inferno burnt up the plane which explains why hardly any wreckage was found. Evidence: To see the video (released under the Public Information Act 16th May 2006, click here (.wmv format)) to see all the frames from this video click here. Conspiracy 4) The sudden collapse of the Twin Towers. Conspirators say that a steel framed high rise building has never collapsed before just because of fire. The collapse is consistent with a controlled demolition. Did US agents plant explosive charges to maximize the death toll? Counter: The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center were designed in the 1960's to withstand either a hit from an airplane or fire, but this attack was both together. Leslie Robertson, Structural Engineer of the World Trade Center: "There is no evidence there was a bomb inside." The planes were filled with fuel and this set off a chain reaction in the buildings which caused the damage. Conspiracy 4b) We have seen arguments that the following footage shows a controlled explosion (video: wmv rm). We just don't see it that way. A controlled demolition would have required an explosion from the bottom, all this video shows is the tower collapsing from above. It is said that you can hear a large bang (the commentator refers to it) but that could easily have come from the beginning of the collapse at the top of the structure. Conspiracy 4c) We have also heard arguments that the top-down collapse of the mainly steel Twin Towers can be compared to a controlled explosion of a brick and mortar building, as seen in this example (wmv rm). Trouble is, the Twin Towers did not collapse like the second controlled demolition example in this video. In the controlled demolition example the explosive charge is set at the base of the structure (you can't see it explode because there are buildings in the way), the explosion then starts off a domino type effect and the entire structure collapses downwards. The Twin Towers collapsed from the top down, not bottom-up like in a controlled explosion. Conspiracy 4d) We have also heard it alleged that the secret services have hushed up satellite images which apparently show a heat source at Ground Zero, after the collapse of the building. The conspiracy says that it was this (additional) heat source that enabled the Twin Towers to collapse in the way that they did. However, following the high heat required to destroy the towers from the aircraft filled with fuel, we would expect to see a heat image following the collapse of the building, and don't see that this proves there was an additional heat source put there to create the controlled demolition. Conspiracy 5) Israeli agents knew of the 9/11 attacks in advance but did nothing to try to stop them, hoping it could be used to their advantage against the Arabs. A group of men in a van were seen apparently celebrating when they saw the Twin Towers being attacked. They were arrested by police. The police were suspicious. They found dual passports, $4000 cash in a sock. At least one of the men was Israeli secret service who refused to take a lie detector test for 10 weeks. Counter: This opened up a conflict between Israel and the USA. The USA seemed to be unaware that Israel were spying on them. The men were not charged, apparently on the condition that Israel stops spying on the USA. There is no evidence that Israeli secret service had any information on 9/11 before it happened. Conspiracy 6) Similar to Conspiracy 5) but the House of Saud were behind the 9/11 attacks in the hope that the USA would then take action against the growing fundamentalism which is particularly destabilizing for them in Saudi Arabia. Immediately after 9/11, charter flights crisscrossed the USA picking up high ranking Saudis including many bin laden family members to enable them to leave the country. Surely they were material witnesses who should at least have been questioned? This is alleged to be part of a cover up as there are close family/business ties between the Bush family and the House of Saud. Conspiracy 7) Al Qaeda used the stock market to make money out of the 9/11 attacks. Suspicious short selling was observed in the airline companies involved in the attacks, which meant that someone somewhere profited when the price of the airlines involved in the attacks fell sharply when the stock exchange reopened. Counter: The 9/11 Commission investigated all trades and found no links to Al Qaeda. There are millions of trades outstanding at any time in a market the size of Wall Street. It is unlikely that Al Qaeda would be able to do this without it being traced back to them as the market is highly regulated (highly auditable WHO DO YOU BELIEVE?
coragryph the lawyer said no one is above the law coragryph explain how Quarter Ton of Marijuana Equals Free? coragryph explain how when you said no one is above the law yet your claim has some problems. Please explain why those laws can be broken without worry of punishment, fines, jail time. Just when you thought our government couldn’t sink any lower in the dereliction of their duty to protect this nation and uphold our laws, you get an e-mail from a reader with a link to this… If you’re caught with two pounds of pot that you plan to sell, plan on going to jail for up to seven years. With 500 pounds, you can kiss your completely freedom goodbye. But head down to Southern Arizona, near the border, do the exact same thing, and in many cases you get off scott-free. No prosecution, no penalty, no prison…in fact - not even a slap on the hand. County prosecutors say it’s enormously frustrating and for the drug cartels, enormously profitable. But this sweet deal only applies if you’re illegal and smuggling 500-pounds or less. And therein lies one of our country’s dirty little secrets: Mexican drug runners getting a free pass back to Mexico if they’re caught with less than a quarter-ton of pot. Cochise County attorney Ed Rheinheimer spells it out. “If a seizure is made of an amount less than 500 pounds, the case doesn’t get prosecuted.” You read that right. Drug runners doing business without punishment. But don’t blame the county attorneys. Remember: These are federal cases and should be federally prosecuted. But guess what? They don’t get prosecuted by the feds and now, they don’t get prosecuted by guys like Ed Rheinheimer, either. “Since 2003 we stopped prosecuting federal referrals because of a lack of resources.” [snip] And while these “weight limits” are unfamiliar to most Americans - drug cartels know them well and plan accordingly. Sergeant Terry Parish warehouses the seizures. We walked through store rooms holding marijuana from floor to ceiling. Lisa Fletcher: “How many of these guys do you think are aware of this sort of unspoken rule that if you’ve got less than 500 pounds, you’re probably not going to get prosecuted?” “I think probably more of them are aware of it than individual officers are. Their intelligence is very good, it’s what they do for a living.” And they do it every night…all along Arizona’s border. War on drugs? Don’t make me laugh. This a full frontal assault on the American citizen and our society. Think I’m wrong? Well, consider this, it seems George Orwell’s famous quote, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” has never been more accurate than it is in America today. Is it any wonder Americans are outraged over the current illegal immigration situation? While our government winks and nods at Mexico, we’ve watched as illegal immigrants are afforded more and more rights in our society than American citizens - American citizens who happen to get stuck with the bill to pay for all of this generosity and are hauled off to prison if we dare to think of breaking any of the laws that illegal aliens receive a free pass for breaking. Our rewards for being Americans and legal American citizens are higher taxes, higher crime rates, lower wages, higher insurance premiums and on and on while illegal aliens are rewarded for their crimes against our borders and our society with: Free health care - U.S. taxpayers pay the medical bills for illegal aliens yet the cost of most American’s monthly health insurance premium for even a small family has now exceeded their monthly mortgage payment and if we fail to pay for our insurance and need medical care, our home will have to be sold to cover the costs. The right to be above the law - Illegal aliens can hide in ’sanctuary cities’ that say, “we care more about the rights of criminal aliens than the rights of our own citizens” yet American criminals are not afforded a place to hide, in fact, they are hunted down. In-state tuition - Senators Hillary Clinton, Dick Durbin, and other members of our Congress are proud sponsors of the illegal dream yet American children have to pay more for their college tuition than their illegal counterparts as some states have already implemented in-state tuition for illegal aliens in direct violation of our federal law. Day laborer centers - American taxpayers fund illegal day laborer centers yet there are no ‘gathering places’ being built for unemployed American workers. No ID necessary - “The stigma and humiliation of constantly proving lawful status is unacceptable”, says the ACLU yet Americans are expected to show 2 forms of verifiable ID to obtain a driver’s license. Fair share of Katrina disaster aid - Hillary Clinton - defender of the illegal alien, made sure that illegal aliens got their ‘fair share’ of the Katrina disaster aid paid for courtesy the American taxpayer. Using our courts to see that crime pays - 2 illegal immigrants won an Arizona ranch in court. Do you think an American trespasser could get that lucky in court? Turning our sense of right and wrong on its head - The Minuteman Project and other anti-illegal immigration groups are targeted as bands of racists and even called ‘vigilantes’ by our President and ‘bigots’ by a member of the U.S. Senate. Americans who are trying to help the border patrol, because of our government’s total disregard for the citizens of this nation, are rewarded by being vilified by the very officials failing to live up to the office they occupy. In this topsy-turvy world, criminals are now accepted as the victim and law-abiding citizens are handed the bill and openly accused of racism if they disagree. Or arrested if they dare to protest. Our Border Patrol agents languish in prisons while known drug smugglers are given immunity. And now, American citizens can expect to face prison time for small amounts of marijuana while illegal aliens can possess a quarter of a ton - and bring it across an international border - with absolutely no ramifications? Orwell was right, “Some animals (and people) ARE more equal than others”. coragryph, tell me why are these people above the law when you clearly said nobody was or is above the law. How do you explain this?Looks like they are above the law, even though you said this does not happen, you know cause you are a lawyer. How do you explain these guys being above the law?
Who still believes Global Warming is caused by man? Global warming ethics, pork and profits By Paul Driessen web posted February 12, 2007 The ink has barely dried on its new code of conduct, and already Congress is redefining ethics and pork to fit a global warming agenda. As Will Rogers observed, "with Congress, every time they make a joke, it's a law. And every time they make a law, it's a joke." However, life-altering, economy-wrecking climate bills are no laughing matter. That's why we need to recognize that the Kyoto Protocol and proposed "climate protection" laws will not stabilize the climate, even if CO2 is to blame. It's why we must acknowledge that money to be made, and power to be gained, from climate alarmism and symbolism is a major reason so many are getting on the climate "consensus" bandwagon. In accusing ExxonMobil of giving "more than $19 million since the late 1990s" to public policy institutes that promote climate holocaust "denial," Senate Inquisitors Olympia Snowe and Jay Rockefeller slandered both the donor and recipients. Moreover, this is less than half of what Pew Charitable Trusts and allied foundations contributed to the Pew Center on Climate Change alone over the same period. It's a pittance compared to what US environmental groups spent propagating climate chaos scare stories. It amounts to 30 cents for every $1,000 that the US, EU and UN spent since 1993 (some $80 billion all together) on global warming catastrophe research. And it ignores the fact that the Exxon grants also supported malaria control, Third World economic development and many other efforts. Aside from honest, if unfounded, fears of climate disasters, why might others support climate alarmism? Scientists who use climate change to explain environmental changes improve their chances of getting research grants from foundations, corporations – and US government programs that budget a whopping $6.5 billion for global warming in 2007. They also increase the likelihood of getting headlines and quotes in news stories: "Climate change threatens extinction of rare frogs, scientist says." Climate disaster skeptics face an uphill battle on grants, headlines and quotes. Politicians get to grandstand green credentials, cement relationships with activists who can support reelection campaigns and higher aspirations, magically transform $14-billion in alternative energy pork into ethical planetary protection, and promote policies that otherwise would raise serious eyebrows. Corporate actions that cause even one death are dealt with severely; but praise is heaped on federal mileage standards that cause hundreds of deaths, as cars are downsized and plasticized to save fuel and reduce emissions. High energy prices are denounced at congressional hearings, if due to market forces – but praised if imposed by government "to prevent climate change." Drilling in the Arctic or off our coasts is condemned, even to create jobs, tax revenues and enhanced security; but subsidizing wind power to generate 2% of our electricity is lauded, even if giant turbines despoil millions of acres and kill millions of birds. Alarmist rhetoric has also redefined corporate social responsibility, created the Climate Action Partnership and launched the emerging Enviro-Industrial Complex. Environmental activists have turned climate fears into successful fund-raising tools – and a brilliant strategy for achieving their dream of controlling global resource use, technological change and economic development, through laws, treaties, regulations and pressure campaigns. Recent developments promise to supercharge these efforts. Environmental Defense is collaborating with Morgan Stanley, to promote emission trading systems and other climate change initiatives – giving ED direct monetary and policy stakes in the banking, investment and political arenas, and in any carbon allowance or cap-and-trade programs Congress might enact. Other environmental groups, companies and Wall Street firms will no doubt follow their lead. ED designed and led the disingenuous campaign that persuaded many healthcare agencies to ban DDT, resulting in millions of deaths from malaria. Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Union of Concerned Scientists, ED and other groups still post deceitful claims about DDT on their websites, further delaying progress against this killer disease. By blaming climate change for malaria, they deflect criticism for their vile actions. Climate catastrophe claims enable activists to gain official advisory status with companies and governments on environmental issues. They also make it "ethical" for Rainforest Action Network and other pressure groups to oppose power generation in Third World countries, where few have access to electricity – and thereby keep communities perpetually impoverished. Meanwhile, Prince Charles gets lionized for appropriating 62 first class jetliner seats for his entourage of 20, on a trans-Atlantic trip to receive an environmental prize and lecture Americans on saving the Earth – because at least he didn't use his private jet. Companies in the CAP and EIC can develop and promote new product lines, using tax breaks, subsidies, legal mandates and regulatory provisions to gain competitive advantages. They get favorable coverage from the media, and kid-glove treatment from members of Congress who routinely pillory climate chaos skeptics. Some worry that this could become a license to further redefine corporate ethics, present self-interest as planet-saving altruism, and profit from questionable arrangements with environmental groups and Congress. Certainly, cap-and-trade rules will create valuable property rights and reward companies that reduce CO2 emissions, often by replacing old, inefficient, high-polluting plants that they want to retire anyway. DuPont and BP will get money for biofuels, GE for its portfolio of climate protection equipment, ADM for ethanol, Lehman Brothers for emission trading and other deals. Environmental activists will be able to influence corporate, state and federal policy, and rake in still more cash. Insurance companies can blame global warming for rate increases and coverage denials. Lobbying and deal-brokering will enter a new era. As Thenardier the innkeeper observed in Les Miserables, "When it comes to fixing prices, there are lots of tricks he knows. Jees, it's just amazing how it grows." Indeed, the opportunities to "game the system" will be limited only by one's "eco-magination." To determine the losers, look in the mirror. Activists and politicians are creating a Frankenstein climate monster on steroids. Were it real, we'd need to dismantle our economy and living standards to slay the beast. How else could we eliminate 80–90% of US and EU fossil fuel emissions by 2050, to stabilize carbon dioxide emissions and (theoretically) a climate that has always been anything but stable? Think lifestyles circa 1900, or earlier. Ponder the British environment minister's latest prescription: World War II rationing, no meat or cheese, restrictions on air travel, no veggies that aren't grown locally. France wants a new government agency that would single out, police and penalize countries that "abuse the Earth." Others want to put little solar panels on African huts, while kleptocratic dictators get millions of dollars for trading away their people's right to generate electricity and emit CO2. We should improve energy efficiency, reduce pollution, and develop new energy technologies. But when we demand immediate action to prevent exaggerated or imaginary crises, we stifle debate, railroad through programs that don't work, create enough pork to fill 50 Chicago stockyards, and impose horrendous unintended consequences on countless families. That is shortsighted and immoral.
Should Bill Cosby be putting his money into saving inner city youth instead of criticizing their plight? It is sad that Bill Cosby is so critical of the inner city communities while giving millions of dollars to black colleges. Why not promote "Hooked on Phonics" and open positive learning centers for afterschool activities. Instead of pointing to the messs, get in there and use his years of experience, financial resources, and Hollywood clout to make a BIG difference. If he can make us eat "Jello Pudding", he can influence inner city families to raise their standards. Lead by example, not criticism. A little love and encouragement, to a child who needs it, goes a long way.

Your opinion? I'm trying to start a center for our youths today, that promotes postive things in every aspect possible. I have very little money and I'm writing down why I'm doing this, and who the center will benifit. The center is more like an YMCA targeted youth. Except more afforable. THe center will be for families with low income. I will not promote negative music, pictures, sex at an early age, negative attitudes and fighting, gangs, prostition, doragatory images and words as well. I'm building this for the youth that is going through crap in life and needs an positive place to hang with and be themselves. Some are going to love me some are going to hate me, But the youth is in trouble, and we barely have the resources to help us out, I'm only 18. This is not just an black and white issue its for any teen that needs the positiveness brought into their life. And strict rules will be applied. What are some opinions if you can give some advice please do so, and what do I have to do to get started
Illegal Alien Loving anti War Libs what is your response to this? More Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says By Jim Brown AgapePress February 22, 2007 (AgapePress) -- Illegal aliens are killing more Americans than the Iraq war, says a new report from Family Security Matters that estimates some 2,158 murders are committed every year by illegal aliens in the U.S. The group says that number is more than 15 percent of all the murders reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the U.S. and about three times the representation of illegal aliens in the general population. Mike Cutler, a former senior special agent with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (the former INS), is a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and an advisor to Family Security Matters (FSM). He says the high number of Americans being killed by illegal aliens is just part of the collateral damage that comes with tolerating illegal immigration. "The military actually called for the BORTAC team, ... the elite unit of the Border Patrol, to be detailed to Iraq to help to secure the Iraqi border," Cutler notes. "Now, if our military can understand that Iraq's security depends in measure on the ability to protect its border against insurgents and terrorists, then why isn't our country similarly protecting our own borders?" he asks. "We are not five and a half years, nearly, after 9/11, and yet our borders remain open," the Center for Immigration Studies fellow observes. "We have National Guardsmen assigned on the border, but it turns out they are unarmed," he points out. "Their rules of engagement are very simple: if armed intruders head your way, run in the other direction." This situation would "almost be comical if it wasn't so tragic," Cutler asserts. "If our borders are wide open, this means that drugs, criminals, and terrorists are entering our country just as easily as the dishwashers," he says. The report from FSM estimates that the 267,000 illegal aliens currently incarcerated in the nation are responsible for nearly 1,300,000 crimes, ranging from drug arrests to rape and murder. Such statistics, Cutler contends, debunk the claim that illegal immigration is a victimless crime. "Then we even have another problem," he adds, "and that's the Visa Waiver Program." The federal government's Visa Waiver Program enables nationals of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. According to the U.S. State Department website, the waiver program was established in 1986 with the objective of "eliminating unnecessary barriers to travel," stimulating America's tourism industry, and allowing the government to focus consular resources in other areas. Cutler says the U.S. retains the Visa Waiver Program because the nation's travel, tourism, and hospitality industries want America's borders wide open. In other words, the former INS official contends, the nation's security is being compromised in the name of trade. Copyright © 2007 AgapePress -- All rights reserved.

Article - Christian Executions What do you think about it? *Faith Under Fire Christian believers executed in North Korea* 'Refusal to worship Kim Jong-il, being caught worshiping God brings harsh Posted: January 21, 2007 1:00 a.m. Eastern By Michael Ireland Assist News Service Reports about four Christians being executed for their faith in North Korea are circulating in the Christian media. According to Mark Kelly of Baptist Press: "The Democratic People's Republic of North Korea is well-known as a country where Christians are persecuted for their faith. Because the government there keeps a tight lid on communication, however, only rarely does specific information leak out." Quoting the World Bible Translation Center's Gary Bishop in a conversation with Mission Network News, Kelly reports that one man who worked as an evangelist was executed after being caught with two Korean New Testaments in his possession. Bishop says North Korean Christians are becoming increasingly uneasy about possessing a Bible. He said: "A man that's known to be an evangelist. He's probably not an evangelist to anyone other than his family members, but he was caught with two of our Korean New Testaments in his possession and he was executed for that." Kelly writes that Bishop also told Mission Network News: "A woman and her grandmother were washing clothes when a New Testament fell out of the woman's clothing. Somebody reported it, and both she and her grandmother were quickly executed. And an army general who had become a believer was caught evangelizing men in his unit and was executed by a fellow officer." Kelly says Bishop told MNN that despite the oppression – or perhaps because of it – God seems to be working. Bishop said: "In response to a very, very oppressive government (and) human injustices, people are looking for an answer other than their own government. And, I believe that's awakening the resilience of believers in North Korea to say, 'We have another answer. There is another way to believe.'" MNN reports that thousands of North Korean Christians have been killed for their faith. Many more are in work camps. According to Bishop, there's no sign of the persecution easing any. "What you have is a leader who is proclaiming himself to be god. It's prescribed that they daily worship him. And, refusal to do that and being caught worshiping God just brings that kind of governmental response. And, as best we can tell, the tempo of that is not lessening." Bishop says it's obvious what that increasing pressure on Christians is doing to Bible smuggling. "It becomes more and more difficult to get a person to risk their life to carry those in to North Korea." With rivers frozen, it's a prefect time to smuggle Bibles into the country. While persecution continues, World Bible Translation Center has no intention of stopping the flow of Bibles into the country. "We do need to begin reprinting and get text ready as God enables people to take those in." North Korea: Country in Focus Population: 22,912,177 Government: Authoritarian Social Capital: Pyongyang Type: Restricted Nation According to the World Fact Book, quoted on the VOM Australia website: "Following World War II, Korea was split with the northern half coming under Communist domination and the southern portion becoming Western oriented. Kim Jong-il has ruled North Korea since his father and the country's founder, president Kim Il-sung, died in 1994. After decades of mismanagement, the North relies heavily on international food aid to feed its population, while continuing to expend resources to maintain an army of about 1 million. North Korea's long-range missile development and research into nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons and massive conventional armed forces are of major concern to the international community. In December 2002, North Korea repudiated a 1994 agreement that shut down its nuclear reactors and expelled U.N. monitors, further raising fears it would produce nuclear weapons." Report from United States Commission on International Religious Freedom Religious freedom remains essentially non-existent in North Korea, where the government has a policy of actively discriminating against religious believers, says the USCIRF. The group states: "The North Korean state severely represses public and private religious activities. The Commission has received reports that officials have arrested, imprisoned, tortured, and sometimes executed North Korean citizens who were found to have ties with overseas Christian evangelical groups operating across the border in China, as well as those who engaged in unauthorized religious activities such as public religious expression and persuasion. Although access to updated information about North Korea remains limited, by all accounts, including according to testimony delivered at the Commission's hearing on North Korea in January 2002, there has not been any improvement in the conditions for religious freedom in the past year." In recent years, the USICRF says, the government has formed several religious organizations that it controls for the purpose of severely restricting religious activities in the country. For example, the Korean Buddhist Federation prohibits Buddhist monks from worshiping at North Korean temples. Most of the remaining temples that have escaped government destruction since the Korean War are regarded as cultural relics rather than religious sites. Similarly, the Korean Christian Federation restricts Christian activities. Following the reported wholesale destruction of over 1,500 churches during Kim Il-sung's reign (1948-1994), two Protestant churches and a Roman Catholic church, without a priest, opened in Pyongyang in 1988, even though the absence of a priest for Roman Catholics means that Mass cannot be celebrated and most sacraments cannot be performed. Several foreign residents have reported that they regularly attend services at these churches and that it is clear that whatever public religious activity exists, such as services at these churches, is staged for their benefit. The USICRF reports: "Persons found carrying Bibles in public or distributing religious literature, or engaging in unauthorized religious activities such as public religious expression and persuasion are arrested and imprisoned. There continue to be reports of torture and execution of religious believers. Although the practice of imprisoning religious believers is apparently widespread, the State Department has been unable to document fully the number of religious detainees or prisoners. According to a press report, an estimated 6,000 Christians are incarcerated in "Prison No. 15," located in the northern part of the country. The Commission learned from testimony at its January 2002 hearing that prisoners held on the basis of their religious beliefs are treated worse than other inmates. For example, religious prisoners, especially Christians, are reportedly given the most dangerous tasks while in prison. In addition, they are subject to constant abuse from prison officials in an effort to force them to renounce their faith. When they refuse, these religious prisoners are often beaten and sometimes tortured to death." The organization concludes: "Officials have stratified North Korean society on the basis of family background and perceived loyalty to the regime into 51 specific categories. Religious adherents are by definition relegated to a lower category, receiving fewer privileges and opportunities, such as education and employment, than others. Persons in lower categories have reportedly been denied food aid. Thousands of North Koreans have fled to China in recent years. Refugees who are either forcibly repatriated or captured after having voluntarily returned to the DPRK are accused of treason; those found to have had contacts with South Koreans or Christian missionaries are subjected to severe punishment, including the death penalty." (United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, as quoted on VOM Australia website).
Did you know more Americans are killed by illegal aliens than in the Iraq war ? Fiddley - Isn't one murder one too many ? Realize illegals do not commit all the crimes and murders, however if 1/3 of your prison population is made of illegals, doesn't that speak volumes

Is it immoral to do nothing? I believe overpopulation is a HORRIBLE PANDEMIC!!??
Yahoo! Answers rehabilitation center ?? This is my story: At first when I joined yahoo answers. I used to take good use of its resources to ask practical questions in my life. I use to have a wonderful family and I used to own a small business selling bamboo leaves. But I realize my habit is slowly out of control as this is the second weekend i stayed home just answering people's questions and wandering around in this environment pointlessly interacting with profiles with beautiful avatars. Getting high for points given for best answers, and upset when my questions were removed. The points can't even deem rewareds in the physical realm! My wife have gotten jealous of me talking with the female avatars & cleaned out her closet & left with my 2 baby kids due to my addiction being on Y! answers 24/7, not preparing my kids bamboo leaf meals, and not to mention my business have collapsed because i can't bother to leave my laptop. You can tell i'm so drained that i'm losing my sense of humor as well... NOW CAN YOU RELATE!?
Do you find the source credible? Byline: Karen Zapf Jul. 8--Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. has a plan to cut down on fighting and violence in the Woodland Hills and Pittsburgh Public Schools districts. Zappala's office will set up a system to handle cases involving assaults on teachers, police officers and students, he said Monday. Through an agreement with Common Pleas Court, Assistant District Attorney Patrick Schulte and one juvenile court judge will be assigned to cases involving the two school districts, he said. Judge Kim Clark, who heads the Family Division, will hear the cases two days a month, said Jim Rieland, administrator of juvenile probation. Rieland said of 259 cases of aggravated assaults on teachers from Sept. 1, 2007, through May 15, 182 originated from Pittsburgh Public Schools and 42 were from Woodland Hills. Aggravated assaults on teachers constitute everything from touching, shoving or pushing a teacher to injuries a teacher suffers while breaking up fights between students, Rieland said. "We are not going to permit that to continue," Zappala vowed. "We want the schools to be safe." Zappala became involved in Woodland Hills in November, after then-Swissvale police Chief James Ohrman complained that school officials repeatedly failed to notify police about serious criminal offenses in schools. West Junior High School is located in Swissvale. When student fights and teacher injuries came to a boiling point again in spring, Zappala assigned detectives from his office and the Violent Crime Firearms Task Force to periodically visit the high school campus in Churchill and check vehicles and monitor students' activities. Zappala said he doesn't prefer to have "a police state on campus." He expects the continuity of a single prosecutor and judge to result in better handling of cases because they would become acquainted with students. "I'm hoping for the same success that we've had with domestic-abuse prosecutions," Zappala said. "Repeat offenders are treated differently than first-time offenders." He said he aims for better coordination with Shuman Juvenile Detention Center. That pleases Swissvale police Chief Greg Geppert, who said students taken to Shuman often came to school the next day. "Our problem is getting juvenile court to do something with (students involved in fights and other violent acts)," Geppert said. The chief said he worries about what might happen when nearly 300 students from East Junior High School in Turtle Creek, which is closing, come to West Junior High this fall. "I expect a lot of problems with that," said Geppert, who wants to assign a second resource officer to West Junior High. Zappala's plan would address elementary students by introducing an anti-bullying program modeled after one from Cape Coral, Fla., where a student committed suicide in 2005 after being bullied by a classmate. The plan would direct school districts to develop a policy regarding bullying and harassment, and to report instances to parents of bullies and victims. David Johnston, director of pupil personnel services in Woodland Hills, said the district implemented a bullying policy during the most recent school year. "It has helped children who may not think that something is bullying behavior (to) look at what they're doing," Johnston said.
