High school teacher looking for resources for a publication class which covers yearbook, newspaper and tv news Hello. I teach at a school where I was the yearbook advisor last year. I am in some serious advice on what books to use, are there any websites to use, and how to tie all three aspects (yearbook, newspaper, and tv news). I have 12 students to do all this. How to deal with a coworker adamently against sharing resources? I work in an international school. I am one of two teachers in our ESL department. Our school is in the process of putting together written curricula in order to get our accredition. Today, while showing the other ESL teacher how to file units and resources to go with each unit, I began to butt heads quite strongly with her. She all but refused to put any worksheets and supplementary materials in the files, stating that's what textbooks and curriculum are for. I was flabergasted. Not wanting to share and help fellow teachers after we leave seems rediculous to me. Why reinvent the wheel? What's wrong with leaving things that are truly necessary for the curriculum in addition to giving new teachers more to work with and make their own? She was completely against this, saying that it's her work! Why would she put things in when it's the teachers job to make their own things? I pointed out that she would benefit if she were in the new teachers place. This didn't sway her.
